1,000-lb Capacity. Upgrade your rear suspension by installing these helper leaf springs above your vehicle's factory leaf springs. They significantly reduce sway and prevent sagging, which is perfect for towing or hauling heavy loads.

Features:

  • Reinforce your vehicle's rear suspension with extra leaf springs that prevent sagging and reduce sway by up to 30 percent
    • Work like sway bars to stabilize your OEM springs and keep them from twisting
    • Compensate for windy conditions, wind turbulence from big rigs, and weight shifts from cornering
    • Lift your truck when you are carrying a heavy load and prevent bottoming out
  • Adjust automatically to your payload
    • Rollers on each end of the SuperSprings activate when the OEM springs flex under load
    • Rollers deactivate when OEM springs aren't under load
  • Can be customized - the shackles attaching the SuperSprings provide several options for installation
    • Choose a setting that increases load support and ride height for constant heavy loads or to compensate for minor spring fatigue in an older automobile
    • Choose a setting that maintains the original factory ride conditions and minimizes effect on unloaded ride quality and height
    • Choose a medium setting that balances support, height, and ride comfort
  • Install easily - bolt on above your existing factory springs with no drilling required
    • For some models with factory springs that sit above the axle, the included poly spring pads prevent shifting
    • Dense polyurethane blocks seat between the top of the factory springs and the underside of the SuperSprings
  • Require no maintenance - no tubing or air pressure to monitor or adjust like air springs
  • Extend the life of brakes, tires, and factory suspension
  • Made in the USA

SuperSprings diagram of roller and shackle system for extra leaf spring

These additional leaf springs add support and sway control to your existing OEM suspension. Just bolt on SuperSprings over your existing factory springs, and they automatically work when you need them. As the factory spring flexes, a roller at each end of the beefy helper spring reacts to engage the helper spring and to provide extra support. The springs help to better distribute cargo weight throughout your existing suspension, channeling that weight to the points on the frame that are designed to support heavy loads.

SuperSprings leaf spring installed on a vehicle

Placing these leaf springs above your factory springs helps to keep your OEM springs from twisting, so the SuperSprings act like a sway bar, reducing the body roll that makes driving more difficult and dangerous. With these helper springs, driving is safer and easier when it's windy, when your vehicle is rocked by a passing semi, and when you are cornering. The springs help to reduce sway by up to 30 percent. SuperSprings also allow more wheel travel in the rear suspension when they are under load, so they maintain traction and ride comfort better than rubber or polyurethane bumpers. That means they're great for drivers who frequently tow.

You can also customize the level of support provided by SuperSprings. For most models, the shackles that attach the helper leaf springs to your existing leaf springs have several installation options:

  • For greater support and ride height when your suspension is under a constant load or if you have an older automobile with some spring fatigue, install the helper springs using the upper bolt holes
  • To maintain the factory ride and reduce the effect on your ride height, install using the lower bolt holes
  • To balance support, height, and ride comfort, install using the upper hole on one end and the lower hole on the other

SuperSprings are a maintenance-free, low-cost alternative to air spring systems, which require constant monitoring and air pressure adjustment. These helper leaf springs respond automatically to the load you carry, so there is no crawling under your truck to adjust them. You'll also reduce wear and tear on your suspension, brakes, and tires, which saves you money. The bolt-on installation means that they are easy to fit - no drilling required.

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 1995 Toyota Tacoma
For your application with an extra leaf spring already installed on the 1995 Toyota Tacoma, I would go with the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, # TTORTAC4A. It will not affect the empty ride of the vehicle, the springs get more rigid under load for more support, they are easy to install, and they are very cost effective. Since you will be on a lot of back roads, the added bonus of these springs acting as additional shocks will help out with ride quality as well. I have included...

  • If the Rear Suspension of a 1998 Toyota Tacoma Sags What is Recommended to Fix It
We have suspension enhancement products that are confirmed to fit your 1998 Toyota Tacoma, but they all require that the suspension of the vehicle be in good working order. Suspension enhancement isn't designed to support weak or damaged components. The best product for you would be new rear springs based on what you described. We don't carry replacement springs. Once you replace your current springs that have problems I attached a link for you to check out that has all of the enhancement...

  • SuperSprings Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 4x4
Yes, the SuperSpring kit part # SSA18 that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2002 Toyota Tacoma 4WD and would be perfect for your application where you would be installing a 1,200 lb camper in the bed of the truck. What's great about the SuperSpring kits is that they also work as an anti-sway device too.

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement Options for 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 Double Cab with Camper Shell
There are several types of rear suspension enhancement kits available for your 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4X4. These include adjustable air springs, jounce-style rubber or urethane springs and helper leaf springs. The link provided will show you all available rear-axle suspension kits for your 2004 Tacoma 4WD. These vary in price and installation complexity. Note that none of these products will increase the weight-carrying capacity of your vehicle. Air-spring kits are more costly and complex...

  • What Suspension Kit to Correct Sagging Rear End on 2002 Toyota Tacoma During Occasional Towing
As you noted there are several different types of rear axle suspension enhancement products for your 2002 Toyota Tacoma: air-springs, rubber bump-stop springs and helper leaf springs such as the Super Springs # SSA18. Air-spring kits are more complex to install and require regular checks to maintain their required minimum pressure, but offer adjust-ability to suit changing tow and cargo loads. Rubber springs are not adjustable but do offer progressive resistance as the load increases,...

  • Best Rear Axle Suspension Kit for 1998 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 SR5 Extended Bed
The Super Springs Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway-Control Kit you referenced, part # SSA7, is a fit for the 2-wheel-drive non-Pre-Runner version of the 1998 Toyota Tacoma, but this kit will not fit your 4X4. A comparable product from Super Springs that will fit the 4WD non-Pre-Runner is part # SSA18. This bolt-on kit installs above your factory leaf springs without drilling required. Helper leaf springs like these are a good choice for frequent towing or hauling of heavy loads. They...
