Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at our Pacbrake Alpha HD Air Bag Suspension Kit with Internal Jounce Bumpers for your rear axle, rated at 5,000 pounds. So folks, starting off, again, these are a custom fit application for the '05 through 2010 Ford F-250 and 350 Super Duty, two wheel drive models and not for use for commercial cab and chassis trucks. So, double check our fit guide here at trailer.com on the homepage to make sure you're getting the right parts the first time. Now, as I mentioned, these do include the internal jounce bumpers. I'm gonna have to throw an image up on the screen, from the manufacturer here, to show you that.
So that's what that cutout picture looks like. That orange/yellow jounce there in the middle. That's gonna add ride quality inside of the bag itself. So, what I always tell people is if you want just the basic set without the jounce stoppers, you can do that. If you need the additional weight capacity or that internal jounce stopper like these have internally, this would be a better option for you in that case.
So what do I mean by that Maybe you've got a whole lot of weight, always in the bed of your truck. So whether it's a in-bed camper or a heavy toolbox, a work truck, maybe that's still, again, not a commercial cab and chassis, but it's got a lot of heavy weight and stuff, construction, then these would be a great option. If you don't have none of that and you just maybe use it, use your truck to pull a camper maybe once in a while or something, you might not wanna do the internal jounce bumper, because remember, this is gonna compress under the weight of everything and with that internal jounce, now it can't smash as far or can't, you know, compress as far. So you may feel some bumps in the road and stuff when you're empty, if you're too light. So, just kind of putting that out there, make sure you're getting the right set up for your particular needs.

Now I'm gonna step outta the way so you can see a closeup of these a little better. I've got 'em just kind of hand tightened and mocked up here on some wooden blocks, just to kind of show you more or less what they'd look like. Keep in mind there's gonna be more brackets hanging off of this in different areas.
That's what all the parts and everything here are for on the sides. These brackets have been precision laser-cut. So everything here is top, top quality. Pacbrake's been around in the big rig industry for years, so more like semi tractor trailers, those kinda big heavy trucks. So, everything is high quality, high standards. It meets all the specifications for the road for safety and all that kind of stuff. And these particular ones can support between five to 100 PSI, depending on your load. You're not gonna have to do any drilling to install this kit. All you need to do is follow the instructions that come with it. Take your time, cut everything the right length, like it says in the instructions. And it's as simple as push fittings as far as the airline into the two connectors up here on the top of the bag. So, pretty simple install. Don't get scared away with all the hardware here. There is a lot, but again, everything's been nice powder-coated and everything, so it's got a nice finish on it. And, (part clatters) we carry other brands here at etrailer as well, and they're great brands as well. And I gotta be honest though, out of the brands that we carry, I'm liking these the best as far as the quality, the attention to detail, the finish on everything and just how well they package everything. And to me that goes a long way. It shows the attention to detail and that just means they're gonna have that same attention to detail in the product itself. Now before we go, just one thing to remember, airbags are not going to increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. And what I mean is if your truck's ready, let's say at, I don't know, 10,000 GBW, you can't add 5,000 pounds. All these are doing is help support that additional weight that's in there, to kind of get you back to your stock level, or stock ride height, as we call it, whenever you're towing and whenever you're doing your daily driving. The brackets are not built heavy enough
good product , good strong solid metal parts and heavy bags. The instructions were not so hot but was easy to figure out and quick delivery !
Easy install. Will pull trailer 3000 miles on vacation and see how it performs to Montana on highways and Forest Service roads.
Where to start I have 1500 pounds of tools in my 150 Chevy had them installed and it totally changed the ride and handling of the truck haven’t pulled anything yet but I’m amazed on how different the truck is already I Baught the ones with the bump stops in them the HD ones

My experience with loading my truck and seeing the difference with these air bags from PacBrake, it does look way better and the truck feels a bit more stable running atspeed limit (65mph) after that it does feels jumpy if you go over potholes, but overall I'm happy with the product, thanks Etrailer,

Installation is fidgety with lining everything together for the upper bracket with u-bolt(reason for 4 stars), but still preferred over cutting the bump stop mounts off. Replaced the Timbrens with this and it is night and day difference in ride quality both unloaded and towing.
Would purchase again.
Product is well constructed and installation is straightforward. But you cannot build the kit and slip it in, you have to leave the top bracket off and install it after setting the lower bracket and air bag in place. I will note, I was working off jack stands and a floor jack, not on a lift.
