Well designed, Well used, Well loved. Seriously, I use this cargo stabilizer bar w/ it’s little perpendicular sliding stabilizer regularly to keep order in the bed. This combo does a fine job doing what it’s supposed to, working well over both the flat and the ripples of the liner. I don’t have a load to show right now, but here’s a pic showing it across the back of the bed. Wouldn’t be without the pair. Just great!
I recently bought a Ram Dodge and was needing something to holds things in the bed from rolling around. I came across the HitchMate Cargo Bar while web surfing for something. Great product and very sturdy and shipping was fast. Setup in seconds and I like it enough that I may buy a second one for my wife's Ford truck.
Really nice and heavy duty bar. I purchased the stabiload support as well. Easy to use, a bit heavy to hold while locking into place. Definitely recommend

Larger and heavier duty than I thought it would be. The add on piece could be improved. It is a square attachment with wingnuts monubted to round pole.
The smaller accessory bag is nice addition also.

I really like this cargo bar from Hitchmate. Nothing cheap about it! It is a heavy duty unit that will last many years even with continual use. Not a lightweight cargo bar like so many others. I believe in spending for quality the first time because if I have to buy it again, it just became the most expensive option of all. The bar secures well without being over tight. The feet are heavy duty (non-marking?) and have a little give at the base of the shoe to prevent failure in the event of sudden movements/stops. It's a nice design feature. I am soon planning on moving many loads and this cargo bar will come in handy.
This is an excellent load lock. I especially like the adjustable arm. I can load one or more propane cylinders at the tailgate then slide the arm in to snug them up without having to use a bungee.

Fantastic product. Very versitile.
I ordered two of these to keep my camping gear organized in the front and back of my pickup truck bed. This is a very high quality product. I originally purchased a like model at a big box store but it didn't fit my truck. I'm glad that it didn't. This is a much better product at a fraction of a cost increase. The free shipping was quick, and they arrived well packed and in good shape.

They are still working very well.
Will not work in a plastic bed liner truck. Too heavy in my opinion, and too expensive. Sitting in my garage because I can't use it. I use bungee cords stretched across the bed to keep things from sliding forward.

Tried setting bar in different positions, found what works. I still think the price was a bit high.
Installed the retainer (ordered 2) and they were so easy to drop in, I didn’t even read the instructions. Solid and firmly in place, once the slick slope drop in bed liner issues were overcome. Just have to find places on the truck wall that are flat and not too slick. Otherwise a good investment.

Why didn't I buy this cargo stabilizer bar sooner? For years, I used a couple of 2x6s to separate loads in the bed of my old F-150. Just bought a new Tundra and was ready to cut some lumber when I saw the HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar on the etrailer.com website. Price was reasonable, so I bought it. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Does everything my old 2x6 did - only better, faster, easier, and with no occasional splinters! Great product. Would recommend to anyone with a pick-up truck. (And, don't forget to get the StabLoad Support as well.)
Very pleased with my deliveries from etrailer. The HitchMate cargo bar and stabilizer supports were delivered on time and the packaging was nicely done. I have not had a chance to install and use the bar yet (due to the ongoing snow storms) but the bar is very well made and will surely keep my load (extra diesel fuel, RV jack supports, and propane tank, etc.) nicely secured in the bed of my RAM 3500.
First thing I noticed on the HitchMate upon pulling it out of the box was the size! the pictures don't do it justice on the web site. The diameter of the Stabilizer bar is massive and completely erased any concerns it would hold up during use. The "locking/sizing mechanism" is also very "beefy" holding it securely in place with the "slick" surface of the Ford factory spray-in-liner allowing it to handle all sizes or weight of my cargo. With the addition of the Stabiload Stabilizer I can isolate to completely avoid shifting either left or right and front to back.
Could not be more pleased.
As usual, eTrailer service customer service could not have be better.

I love the stabilizer bar. I use it all the time I bring 5 gas cans 6 gal to the lake for my boat and the bar holds the cans in place with out tying them in. I recommend this product

Works good once adjusted. Takes a little bit to get it adjusted right but Ive been pleased.
I purchased a stabilizer bar along with a cargo bag and love them both. Have used them on numerous fishing trips while packing the bed of my truck - everything stays dry and safely stored. The stabilizer bar also comes in handy for tailgating !!!
I wanted to buy a cargo bar and there are tons of them out there. I did my research and decided on the one from etrailer. Placed the order and was notified that the cargo bar was in production. I had ordered in plenty of time so wasn't worried. Karen at etrailer kept me updated and the item finally arrived. Very good quality, sturdy no complaints, glad I bought two. Karen at etrailer was awesome. Even a phone call to tell me that the cargo bar was on its way. Great product, great company and of course Karen was great.
awesome tool for keeping items in place! much easier and stronger than using bungee cords! especially when hauling propane tanks! as always, etrailer shipped quickly. bar is heavy duty and looks like it will last a long time. very pleased
No assembly required for this item. Take it out of the box and put it right in the bed of your truck. Moves easily depending on the size of the load, and is solid enough to secure lighter items directly to the bar to eliminate any movement. The additional arm makes it even easier to secure smaller loads.
This is a strong bar that works ands fits as good as you can expect. Love it! This in combination with my bin and box, tonneau and lockable tailgate give me secure storage right where I want it.
Has worked well in securing fuel and propane tanks in the bed. Box was a little messed up when delivered and there were some cosmetic scratches on the bar, but not bad enough to send back. A little awkward to mount up since it is not a true ratchet. You have to hold the bar in place and get the length set almost the width of the bed and then lock the lever down. Have not had problems with it loosening and I have not been setting to very tight to avoid bending the bed.
This item is a great addition to my "hauling tool box" and I use it often. It is very well made and works great after you get use to it. No more sliding around in the back of the truck.
Well built and strong. Really hold a load in the bed- does exactly what it was purchased or. If you are looking for something that holds all kinds of loads- this is the product for you.
It is a bit heavy, and when its not in use is can be bulky, but that's the only downside.
It's a good product that could be a little better. If it were square the Support Bar would fit better. And when you tighten up the screws to hold the support bar to the cross bar, the screws will cut into the paint on the cross bar. This may case rust on the bar. I have only used it once, but that is my observation. But it is a lot better than trying to tie everything down. I carry lots of things in the bed of my truck to our cabin. This is so much nicer to have things trapped at the back of the truck so I don't have to climb in and chase items around.
