Zinc-plated, corrosion resistant steel D-ring creates an attachment point for tie-down straps and bungee cords wherever you need cargo control. The recessed design allows you to roll cargo over the ring. Includes backing plate and mounting hardware.

Features:

  • Tie-down anchor provides a solid point to secure your cargo with straps or bungee cords
  • D-ring 90-degrees so you can attach straps from multiple angles
  • Recessed design allows cargo to slide over the ring without interference
  • Included backing plate provides greater support than mounting the anchor directly to wood
  • Zinc-plated steel construction resists corrosion and retains its strength through repeated use
  • Simple, bolt-on installation with mounting hardware
    • Includes 4 Nuts, 4 lock washers, and (4) 3/8" x 2-1/4" bolts

Specs:

  • Maximum load (break strength): 5,000 lbs
  • Working load limit: 1,600 lbs
  • Anchor:
    • Bezel dimensions: 4-1/2" wide x 4-7/8" tall
    • Ring diameter: 1/2"
    • Inner ring diameter: 1-3/8"
    • Recess dimensions: 3-3/8" wide x 3/4" deep
    • Bolt hole dimensions: 3/8" wide x 3/8" tall
    • Bolt size: 3/8" diameter x 2-1/4" long
  • Backing plate dimensions: 6-1/2" wide x 6-1/2" tall
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

  • Tie-Down Recommendation for Bulldog Winch Ratcheting Wheel Tie-Down Strap
The Bulldog Winch Ratcheting Wheel Tie-Down Strap # BDW20362 is designed to connect to a D-Ring type of connection point so you wouldn't need to install an e-track on your trailer. For your application I recommend installing the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor w Backing Plate # RR5K for your anchor points since you want them to be directly in-line with your tires and not offset like your current tie-down anchors. The Brophy kit mentioned above comes with a backing plate and installation...

  • Does the Orientation of the Backing Plate Matter on the Brophy Tie Down Part # RR5K
The orientation of the backing plate on the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor w Backing Plate part # RR5K does not matter. I called my contact at C.R. Brophy Machine Works to confirm this as well. The reason one side is longer is because different situations will require different clearances. Whichever way gives you the most clearance will be the way you will want to install it. I have attached a sample install video on this tie down for you as well.

  • Hole Diameter Recommendation for Installing Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # RR5K
There's a bit of wiggle room for the hole size needed to install the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # RR5K but 3-1/2 inch diameter is the hole size that our installers found worked the best so it would be what I would recommend.

  • Will Backing Plate of Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # RR5K Prevent Anchor From Ripping Out
Depends on the condition of the wood but the backing plate of the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor w Backing Plate # RR5K that you referenced is designed to distribute the weight so that it does not easily rip through the wood. I attached a picture of what the backing plate looks like installed. If the floor is strong enough for the weight of your snowmobile it's going to be strong enough for the backing plate to be effective.

  • Does the Tie-Down Ring or Backing Plate have to Face a Certain Way in Tie-Down with Plate # RR5K
You explained it perfectly fine! For Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor with Backing Plate # RR5K it really does not matter which way you have it positioned. The important thing is that the backing plate is used so that it can better disperse the force applied to the ring to a larger area on the trailer. In the video I have linked showing an example installation we put the hinge end towards the back of the trailer so the load would actually be forward. The longer side of the backing plate is...

  • Motorcycle Tie-Down Recommendations for a 700 Pound Motorcycle and Pressure Treated Flat Bed
The CargoBuckle Mini G3 Retractable, Ratcheting Tie-Downs, # IMF103745-86, would work well to secure your 700 pound motorcycle. If at all possible, bolt the tie-downs to the metal part of the frame. If you have attach it to the wood bed, I recommend adding a steel backing plate on the underside of the wood for support. You could also add some D-rings, like # RR5K, which comes with a backing plate. You may also need adapter # IMF14086 to use with these D-rings. You could also use straps...

The Brophy D-ring # RR01-C you referenced has a WLL of 400-lbs, half of what you need to match your other D-ring, if it is indeed rated for 2500-lbs breaking strength. • D-Ring Recommendation for 48 Foot Cargo Trailer
The Brophy Recessed D-Rings part # RR5K would be a great choice for D-Ring anchors on your trailer. Depending on what you plan to secure these can be installed basically wherever you would need them. Typically you see them installed around the outsides of the trailer floor every few feet as needed. Some even get installed in the walls of the trailer as well. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Can Recessed Trailer D-Ring Tie Down with Backing Plate be Installed in a 2007 Sportster Tow Hauler
If you cannot get access to the bottom of the floor from underneath the trailer then you would have to cut an access hole to place the backing plate on the underside. • Are Brophy Trailer D-Ring Tie Downs # RR05 Suitable for Use on a Car Trailer
According to my contact at Brophy, their # RR05 Trailer D-Ring Tie Down has a working load limit of 1600-lbs and a break strength of 5,000-lbs. (Working Load Limit or WLL is the maximum burden that should be put on the device in daily use.) This makes this sturdy 2-1/2-lb tie down perfect for use on a car hauler trailer. • Is the Brophy D-Ring Strong Enough to Pull a Car Onto a Trailer with a Come Along
The Brophy D-Ring # RR5K is rated for 5,000 pounds but it depends on what it is mounted to. If the trailer has a steel floor or 2x4 wood floor then it would not be a problem. If it is aluminum you would want to bolt it to a structural crossmember and not straight through a floor or wall. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation for you. If your trailer came with D-Rings you would have to check with the manufacturer for the capacity.

No, you can mount a recessed D-ring in any orientation you need and it will perform the same and have the same rating. I recommend # RR5K because it comes with a backing plate and hardware. It is rated for 5,000 pounds limited to the capacity of the surface it is attached to. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.

  • Best Tie-Down Recommendation for a Pine Wood Floor Flatbed Trailer Carrying Motorcycles
I think installing the Recessed Trailer D-Ring, # RR5K, that you have referenced, would be better than # LRB1, because the backing plate is going to help distribute the load from the ring which would be better for your wood decking and make for stronger connection points. • Pulley Block for Hauling Disabled Vehicles off Car Hauler
It sounds like you're looking for a pulley block like part # BDW20004. I would think some sort of D-ring tied into the frame of the trailer would provide a good mount for the pulley block. I looked through our selection of D-rings, and the highest capacity we offer is the # RR5K. You'd want something with sufficient capacity to handle the largest vehicle you expect to have to haul off. Since you're dealing with a rolling load, 5K should be plenty but I would be sure that the ring is tied...

Since you're using 4 of the D -Rings, you'll have a total safe working load limit of almost 7,000 lbs, which should be plenty strong enough to hold your Jeep firmly in place.
