Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this InfiniteRule trailer coupler lock kit. Now this trailer coupler lock is going to protect your trailer from being stolen when it's not in tow, and this ball is going to fit your two inch, your 2 5/16 inch, and even your 1 7/8 inch ball couplers. And the way that I have this right now, this is gonna fit my 2 5/16 inch ball coupler, but if I remove the top portion and I take that off, then this is going to fit in my two inch and my one and 1 7/8 inch ball coupler. This will fit up to 4 1/2 inch wide, a 4 1/2 inch wide trailer tongue. And so I do happen to have a two inch ball coupler, and I just wanted to give you a brief demonstration of how you can use this.
So I'm just gonna drop my coupler over that ball there. And so I'm attached to it. And then I'm gonna take my, the top portion of the shackle, run that through. And if you notice here, it is important that you line up the left and the right sides. So my L's are gonna match on this side and then my R's are gonna match on this side.
So you do wanna make sure that this is in the right orientation. And then I'm going to take this lock here and I'm gonna go ahead and open it. As you can see, we do have a cap there that's going to protect that keyway. So I'm gonna insert the key and I'm gonna turn this counterclockwise and unscrew it like a screw, that's gonna loosen the head and then allow me to run the pin through. If you notice, we do have an O-ring here that's gonna protect the internal components from dirt, debris, and water and things like that.
So as you can see here, we have multiple locking positions to help accommodate most coupler contours and latches. So this is obviously gonna work a whole lot easier when you are, when you have this actually on a trailer here. So I think I'm just gonna run it through these set of holes here. Looks like that'll give me the tightest fit. So let me just run that through, line up my holes, just like that.
And so that's, then you'll, of course, wanna replace the head there, but that's going to prevent this from opening up. And then if you wanted to, you could even put this coupler lock in the hole here as well, just for added security. I think you could do that as well. But this is what it's going to look like when you have the shackle locked up. So then let me go ahead and remove this. And then when you're ready to tow, you'll obviously remove this shackle. I'm gonna set this off to the side here. And then let me go ahead and get my two inch ball. And so I'm gonna hook it, basically pretend like I'm hooking this up to my tow vehicle there. And then you will use this right here. And I'm gonna gonna go ahead and just grab one of these other keys here. And same thing, I'm going to unlock it the same way, just turn counterclockwise. And then just go ahead and run this through the lock, the latch here and then tighten this back up, turning clockwise. And so as you can see, it's bringing the two ends together. And now that I've got this locked, let me see if I can bring this up closer so you can see. I'm just going to make sure, I wanna to remove the key. I need to line the keys up to the nearest set of hash marks. We've got a set of hash marks that run around the ring. So I just line that key hole up to the next, the next set, the near set of hash marks, that allowed me to remove the key. And now my coupler is nice and locked up. So very secure and not gonna have to worry about somebody coming by and trying to take this off of the ball of my vehicle. So let me go ahead and remove this. So this flush-style coupler lock is gonna be great for securing the trigger latch, and it's just a great kit to have on hand to make sure that your trailer is always locked up, always secure, and it's gonna really be a great theft deterrent. The latch lock pin length, by the way, is 1 1/8 inches. So I'm gonna lock this back up and replace the caps here. And if I did mention it, the six keys are all keyed alike, so you're gonna be able to use one key for everything, which is great. And then you can take the remaining keys and hide them in a secure location in case you might lose one. So that's a good peace of mind to have. And then this does include a flush-style hitch lock that's gonna secure your ball mount or accessory to your two inch or your 2 5/16 inch hitch. And it's gonna work exactly the same as these other locks that we looked at. So I'm gonna go ahead and replace the top portion of the ball here. So everything here is made in the U.S.A. of a heavy-duty stainless steel construction. So it's gonna be corrosion-resistant. It's gonna hold up really well for you. InfiniteRule makes great locking solutions. I've always been impressed by what they offer, and this is really gonna be no exception to that. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Seems like a good product, but my trailer was stolen from a crowded Walmart parking lot with the coupler lock and hitch lock on it. Fortunately, I got the trailer back, and you could see where the person had simply beaten it off with a hammer. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture, though I can get one later. (I ended up meeting the guy that stole it, and I wish I had asked for the broken lock back, and ask him exactly how he did it, but I was too pissed at the time.)
I know that no lock is break proof, but I will likely just buy a cheaper coupler lock in the future - basically, I now see all locks as serving the same purpose: make it so that whoever steals your trailer needs to have some tools with them, and they all do that.
