Today, we're going to take a look at the BulletProof Hitches pintle lock for heavy-duty and extreme-duty adjustable ball mounts with a 2-5/16" diameter ball. Now this BulletProof pintle lock attachment is for the heavy-duty and the extreme-duty adjustable ball mounts. This attachment will basically turn the dual ball setup into a pintle hitch, and it'll let you hook up your trailer that has a lunette ring to tow to your tow vehicle. This is designed to only be used with 2- 5/16" diameter balls. It is stamped right on here. Now this would be rated up to 22,000 pounds when used with the heavy-duty hitch and 36,000 pounds when used on the extreme-duty hitches.
This attachment is solid steel construction, has a nice standard textured black powder coat finish. It is precision CNC milled and drilled, and it's a very easy application.Just to show you how it works, I happened to pull one of the heavy duty hitches right here. I got it set up with the 2-5/16" diameter ball. What you would do with this is when you go to hook up your trailer, it has a lunette ring. You would take that ring, drop it right over the ball, and to hold it into place you would just take this attachment, this lock, and you drop it down.
And when you drop it down, that would settle over the lunette ring and then the hole lines up right there. So, then all you do is take your pin right here, slide it through the hole, clip it, just like the other ones, and that'll hold it into place. What's nice about that is when this lock is installed over the lunette ring, it fits so snug in there between the lunette ring and that adjustable channel, it'll eliminate much of the movement between the ring and the hitch ball when you're towing. So it keeps a lot of chucking from happening. Then to remove it just remove the clip, slide out the pin, and then remove the attachment. Now the hitch ball, the ball mount and the lunette ring, of course, is all sold separately.
This part would include the billet pintle lock, the hardened steel pin with the R-clip. These parts are made in the USA. And again, one last note on that this will not work with the medium-duty hitches because they are rated at 14,000 pounds so they are not compatible with this attachment. This will only work with the heavy-duty, which is rated up to 22,000 pounds and the extreme-duty hitches, which are rated up to 36,000 pounds. That should do it for the review on the BulletProof Hitches pintle lock for heavy-duty and extreme-duty adjustable ball mounts with a 2-5/16" diameter balls..

Use this pintle lock to turn your 22K, 30K, or 36K BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount into a pintle hitch. Lock installs directly above the 2-5/16" hitch ball on your ball mount so that you can connect to a lunette ring.I have a bullet proof 2 in one adjustable height hitch and this doesn’t even come close to fitting. If it did fit there’s not enough room between the ball and attachment for the lunette ring. Not happy for what it costs and the time to wait only to find it doesn’t work. Hitch assembly is a year or two old so might be and old design newer models might fit.
When I purchased the hitch, it was my understanding the pintle hitch would work with adjustable ball mount. It does not work. They are not compatible. Otherwise, it is a excellent product.

I reached out to the manufacturer about this issue and he said that technically the pintle will fit the 2 ball but because pintle trailers are generally heavy duty they only recommend using the 2 516 ball for pulling pintle trailers. The pintle will not work with the Bulletproof Medium Duty ball mount because the ball design is different.
This is a great addition to the Bulletproof hitch, but it can be a bit difficult to remove in some parking conditions. We ALWAYS chock our trailers. Please secure yours as well.
Very ingenious product. I can’t believe it took so long for someone to come up with such a simple product that can turn your standard hitch into a pintle hitch.
Excellent service and delivery was on time and web site was very detailed and easy to navigate
Stronger and heavier than I thought. Used the day after it arrived a d it worked perfect. So much easier than swapping out hitches all the damn time.
This addition to the bulletproof hitch system is great. It really helps provide versatility. It is easy to use.
Easy to use. Doesn't completely close for use with straps or rings. Seems overpriced, but very well made in the USA.
Quick and easy transaction, speedy delivery, Keep up the great service.

I am happy to reach out the manufacturer. Would you be able to send a picture? I also wanted to ask if you were using this with the 2 and five sixteenth ball and that the ball mount is rated for 22,000 lbs, 30,000 lbs, or 36,000 lbs.
