Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be checking out the Optronics Stick-on Trailer Reflector. These stick-on reflectors are going to be a great solution for those of you that might already have an existing one that's broken. So, you can use it as a replacement. Or if you're just wanting a little bit of extra visibility on your trailer, but don't feel like running a light up there. Or just really not able to.
It doesn't really make sense to use a light there. So, perfect example in our case here. Where our crank is and our upright to secure the boat down. Super thick steel, doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to mount a light here. So, that's where the reflector can come into play.
Sticks right on and you get that little bit of extra visibility. The way these will attach, is on the back of them, they come with two-sided sticky tape. And it's actually pretty good quality as long as your surface is good and clean and dry. You know these are going to have no issues holding on for a long time. Being that they're amber in color though, this orange, you want to mount these in the front of the trailer, on the sides.
If you're going to be doing anything on the back, you'd want the red ones, which they are available. So just keep that in mind. And to make sure this will work with your application, if you got enough space, whatever the case may be. As far as the length of it here, it's going to be 3 and 3/16". And how tall it is, it's going to be 1 and 7/16".
So, these are commonly referred to 3 by 1 and 1/2" reflectors. Just to kind of compare it to another one. Here's another stick on type one. Essentially, you know accomplishes the same thing, just a little bit better, or a little bit different design rather. A little different shape. These ones feel a lot thicker. So if it we're me and I was putting this in kind of a high impact area, let's say by the wheel, by the wheels, or something like that. These might be able to take, you know, a beating a little bit better. But these being a little bit thinner. But up here, out of the way, you know, you really shouldn't run into any issues or damage or anything like that. These are going to be DOT compliant, so you're covered there. And they're sold individually so pick up as many as you need. You know, generally speaking, you do one on each side of your trailer, however you want to set it up. And usually it seems like when a lot of people are adding these on or putting new ones on, kind of overhauling the trailer anyway. So, if that's your case and you plan on, you know, upgrading your lights and all those other types of ins and outs, we carry all that stuff. So be sure to check that out. But I think that'll about do it for our look at of the Optronics Stick-on Trailer Reflector.
