If you want a setup that keeps your front end looking clean when you’re not towing, this is it. The brackets sit back within the grille so they stay out of sight and protected from scrapes and scuffs. When the drawbars are removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible—no bulky crossbar or hardware sticking out. It’s a sleek, low-profile design that looks factory fresh when you’re unhitched.
Connecting your tow bar doesn’t get much simpler. The arms insert into the brackets, twist to lock in place, and are secured by built-in pull rings. To disconnect, just tug the ring, twist, and pull the arm free. The direct-connect style eliminates the need for a quick-disconnect crossbar, making this Roadmaster system their easiest to connect and disconnect.
The base plate mounts directly to your vehicle’s frame for solid strength and long-term durability. Each piece is computer-cut from all-steel stock for precise fitment and dependable towing performance. A black powder coat finish adds corrosion resistance so it stands up through years of road grime and weather without flaking or rusting out.
You don’t need welding gear or special tools to get this mounted up. The kit installs directly to the chassis with standard hand tools, and all mounting hardware and instructions come in the box. It’s straightforward work you can handle in your driveway on a weekend afternoon—no fabrication required.
This base plate is made specifically for Roadmaster motor-home-mounted tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch—like the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2. It’s not designed for tow bars that attach to a hitch ball, so your setup stays secure and matched exactly to the right style of connection.
Roadmaster direct-connect base plates will only work with Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch, such as the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2. These base plates will not work with tow bars that require a hitch ball.

Baseplate fit still excellent. Only complaint I have is the spring loaded locking pins on the EZ mounts are not welded on in the same position. One barely locks in the slot.

I’ve pulled the Chevy behind our motor home several times over a the last year. It has worked excellent. And when not in tow the tubing is barely noticeable.

Wow great job Crystal! It looks great! Also, I couldn’t help but notice “Ski Express” on the car, that’s pretty cool. What kind of work do you do?

Which trim is your 2026 Chevy Trax? Per Roadmaster, the # RM25EQ (523228-5) fits all trims of the 2026 Trax except the ACTIV trim....

It’s been a great year. No problems with the base plate. Works great with my tow bar. Towed my trailblazer from Texas to North Dakota and back, and several short trips.

Install for the base plate looks awesome, Joe! Unsure if you have a wiring kit yet but there are a few options so I'll go ahead share them with you here in case you don't yet. The most popular kit would be part # RM-15267. This can be difficult to install but it is the most reliable. I've also linked an install video for this kit. Something that still has an integrated look but easier to install I would go with part # RM-155. You do have to drill some holes into the back of the light housing, so if you're okay with doing that, this may be the better kit. Also included an install video for that kit as well. Hopefully the videos will help you get a good idea of how to run the wiring for your lights. Let me know if you have any questions after watching!

Still working great. The only thing I wish I could get is “plugs or covers” that go in the holes on the “baseplate” that are exposed after you remove the tow setup components.
