Specs:

The Lomax hard tonneau cover provides complete protection for your truck bed and cargo. The tri-fold panels latch to the cover side rails at 10 points for enhanced security. These lightweight, impact-resistant aluminum panels can also be removed in seconds without tools for full bed access. The watertight cover opens with the pull of a cord at the tailgate, and it stores in the folded position at the cab with integrated storage clips and retractable straps.

Tri-Fold Design for Easy Bed Access

Fold panels for quick truck bed access

The cover has 3 panels that fold up for easy access to two-thirds of your bed.

Latch with release cable

To open the cover, simply pull one of the release cords on the driver's or passenger's side near the tailgate. Fold the rear and center panels on top of the front panel. There are built-in handles included to make this process easy.

Storage clips with retractable straps

The folded panels secure in place at the cab with integrated storage clips with retractable straps. Vinyl-coated spacers with rubber pads protect the folded panels by keeping them properly spaced. This ensures the cover will stay firmly in place while driving on a bumpy road, and limits metal-on-metal contact to reduce noise and vibration for a quieter ride.

Panels folded up for hauling flexibility

You still have plenty of rear window visibility with your tri-fold tonneau open. You can also haul long or tall items at the tailgate while still covering up cargo such as a toolbox that's stored closer to the bulkhead of the truck.

To access your full truck bed, lift up on the folded cover, and slide it away from the bulkhead of the truck. This will disengage the mounting hooks from the front catches on the side rails and allow you to completely remove the panels from the bed. Unlike many soft or hard covers, there are no hook-and-loop fasteners, snaps, or hardware to struggle with while operating the tonneau.

Sleek, Low-Profile Design

Low-profile design

The low-profile cover sits approximately 1/2" above your truck bed rails for an overall streamlined appearance. This aerodynamic design - when paired with a covered truck bed - also reduces wind noise and drag and helps to improve fuel economy. The tonneau is coated with a textured matte black finish that is stylish and improves the overall appearance of your truck.

Maximum Security

This hard cover is great for protecting your fifth wheel or gooseneck connection. It deters theft far better than soft covers that can be cut open with a knife. There are no exterior latches, so no one can access your truck bed.

Hooks and latches highlighted

The tri-fold panels automatically secure to the side rails at 10 points when closed. This helps to prevent would-be thieves from prying open the cover. These 10 security points consist of 2 hooks that slide into catches at the front of the truck bed, 4 additional hooks that fasten along the aluminum channels, and 4 latches that automatically engage to the side rails when the cover is lowered into the retainment brackets. Your cargo and truck bed are completely secured when the cover is closed and your tailgate is locked.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Closed cover protects cargo

The 3 heavy-duty panels are constructed of high-caliber aluminum that is 20 percent stronger than aluminum truck body parts. These impact-resistant panels can withstand hail and falling objects.

The tri-fold panels hold up to 400 lbs. of evenly distributed weight, yet they are light enough to be picked up by one or two people. The tonneau cover only weighs approximately 50 lbs. for a high strength-to-weight ratio.

Weathertight Protection

Weathertight rubber seal

The tonneau cover is designed to seal your bed from the elements to protect your cargo. To prevent water and dirt from entering the truck bed, the cover overlaps the bed rails with continuous watertight rubber seals along the entire length of the side rails. The vinyl-coated panel hinges are also waterproof.

Additionally, the cover has a barely visible arc to route water off the cover in the same way that a road has a slight grade to shed rain away. This water-shedding design - coupled with the other weathertight features - eliminates the need for drain tubes.

Simple, No-Drill Installation

The cover rails mount to the inside lips of the truck bed side rails. Simply place each rail against the lip and secure it in place with 4 Tight Bite clamps. Your stake pockets are not covered up, so they are still free for accessories.

Installing panels onto side rails

Angle the cover towards the bulkhead of the truck and slide it forward along the side rails until the mounting hooks engage the front catches on the side rails. Lower the cover into the retainment brackets, and unfold the cover. The cover will automatically latch to the side rails as you unfold it.

Safety straps with carabiner

For additional safety, attach the carabiner on the safety strap to the bracket located between the front and center panels.

Video Transcript for Lomax Hard Tonneau Cover Installation - 2016 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today our 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCab we're gonna be installing the Lomax Hard Tonneau Cover, part number AB1010029. Compared to other hard folding tonneau covers, this one does not fold up against your cab for full bed access. It is however easier to remove than those style tonneau covers. The low profile design and in bed rail still give you access to your stake pockets, unlike some other tonneau covers. And unlike soft tonneau covers, it can support a distributed weight. This tonneau cover is custom fit for your F-150. It has a sleek, low-profile design, while offering maximum protection for your truck bed.

Unlike some other tonneau covers, there are no rails that sit above your track bed; the cover itself only sits about 1/2" above your rails. It's made with a strong aluminum construction, so it's gonna be rigid while still reducing weight. There are no exterior latches, so when used in conjunction with your locking tailgate no one can access your truck bed.In this position you get two thirds truck bed access; it's easy to remove for full bed access. With it folded up you can see our weather seel; it surrounds the tonneau cover for a watertight fit. Here you can see the reinforced vinyl-coated hinges that are also gonna keep it watertight.

It's a no-drill installation, the rails simply clamp onto your track bed side rails. The tonneau rails also feature a weather seal, and they sit inside of our truck bed about an 1 7/8". With the tonneau cover in place it's gonna reduce wind noise and drag, it has a stylish matte black finish, and it has a weight capacity of 400 pounds. Now that we've gone over the features I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. First we need to install our rails; they come in two pieces, the shorter rail is gonna be installed first. We're working with the passenger side; the driver side rail is labeled with an arrow.

So we're gonna install it flush with our track bed side rails, in this position the seal is gonna make contact with the inside of our rail. Now we need to make sure it's all the way forward, tight up against our bulkhead, and that the top is flush with our truck bed side rails, then we can install our clamps. Our first one is gonna be as close as we can get it to our bulkhead. Now, when we position the clamp we need to make sure that the teeth line up with the grooves on the underside of the rail. And what it's gonna do is, it's gonna clamp our track bed rail and the tonneau rail together, holding it in place. Once it's in position we can go ahead and hand tighten in down, then we can take a 1/2" wrench and tighten it down the rest of the way.

And you will have to provide your own wrench. Wanna be careful not to over tighten it, just get it nice and snug, and then you can move on to the next clamp. Our next clamp is gonna go in the middle of our rail. With the front two clamps installed, we're ready to bring in our next section of our rail. And we're gonna meet this right up against our first section. Our third clamp is gonna be installed between the two rails. It's not a bad idea to get a second set of hands to hold it in place for you. Our last clamp gets installed as close to the tail gate as we can get it, so here. Then we can repeat the same process on the driver's side. With both rails installed, it's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to set our tonneau cover in place. The hook underneath our front panel needs to slide underneath the tab on our rail. So the trick is to angle your panel upward towards the rear of the tailgate, and then slide it forward on both sides, and then we can just rest it down. It should wind up looking something like this. As we lower it down the catches will automatically secure. Then we can attach our safety straps on each side; you'll only remove these when removing the cover. Now we're ready to fold it out. You can unhook your storage clips on each side. As you fold it out you can remove any packing materials that you may find. We'll unfold our last panel, and the rear panel will automatically latch just like before. Then we can close up our tailgate and we're all set. When you're ready to open it, open up your tailgate, pull down on the latch, then just fold it up the rest of the way. If you wish to drive with it open, re-secure your storage clips to the front panel. And that's gonna complete our installation of the Lomax Hard Tonneau Cover, part number AB1010029, on our 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCab.

Although the box came in a questionable condition the contents were untouched and nothing was missing. To unpack, inspect and install the cover took me about 30-40 minutes. Installation is very easy without reading instructions. No adjustments needed. The cover is very well made and solid. I hope it will last for a long time.

Love the cover, I think it is holding up great. It works well when hauling my 5th wheel toy hauler.

by:

The delivery took a little longer than expected. Installation took about 25-30 minutes. I like it. It works as expected and looks so cool. It does leak just a small amount in the front passenger corner. I think with a little bit of settling, it'll be fine. Perhaps someone there can give me some advice on correcting that.

It arrived a week ago and I got it on. The weather was really nice here today so I took it out for a wash and took some photos thinking I would put a review up with photos since I didn't see any photos on the product's page of it on a Rivian. This evening I got on the site and I don't see an option to write a review. You guys want some pics of a Rivian with the cover? (Maybe I really just want to spread pics of Rivians lol)

Here's one from my garage. I can take some to show off the cover. I got the tailgate ends of the rails adjusted this evening and the cover is perfectly flat now all the way around and it looks really sharp on the vehicle

by:

Installed on a Rivian R1T. The cover itself looks pretty good, nice and flat. The rear squared-off corners and flat edge look a little janky compared to the curved rear edge of the R1T. Functionally I like the way the cover self-locks in two middle locations as you unfold it; the corded lock and release at the tailgate is also very easy to use. Rail installation was painful. The shim piece is supposed to fit between the plastic bed cap and the plastic bed liner and in several places there just wasn't room to force it in. This is more of a knock on the Rivian truck build than this cover but be aware there could be some frustration there. Total vertical clearance between the top of the bed ridges and the bottom of the cover's support rails is about 17 1/2 inches.

Beautiful solid tonneau cover with sleek lines.Perfect factory fit with easy install.
A++++ Seller also.

I texted for confirmation regarding Lomax Hard Tonneau Cover. You insure that it would fit and it did. The cover will come back off in a matter of minutes. Needed for a seven day travel time to Faibanks, Alaska from Washington County, Texas.

by:

Very nice. Really sharp looking. This has been the best tonneau cover we have ever had.

by:

Perfect fit. I was expecting a black cover, but this looked great and turns out to be a real attention getter.
Items well secured when the tailgate is locked. No worries of someone cutting through a cloth cover.

by:

Fairly quick delivery, especially during the holiday season. Super easy install and love the look. Still in the suggested 48 hour initial period so haven't removed the cover and reinstalled it, but if the original install is any indication, it will also go smoothly.

by:

The Lomax Cover looks great on my 2021 F-150 truck. I really trust the Lomax name brand for durability and cost. I was able to install the cover in about an hour.

by:

High quality cover arrived in 2 days from ordering.
.
This "hardcover" fits much better that the several less expensive vinyl covers I purchased previously. Definitely worth it.

This cover replaced a second soft folding cover. The intense sun here in AZ destroys things in quick fashion. Spending a bit more for a hard cover was the correct move. Installing by myself was challenging but after figuring out the clamping system, I prevailed! There were three different clamps that came with the unit. Viewing a Youtube video on installing this cover, they only showed one type of clamp for both sides of the bed rails. I used the short clamps (4) for the bed front, long clamps (2) for the midsection, and long clamps w/plates (2 for the back near the tailgate. Since my bed is covered with a rubberlike coating, I had to cut out the two plugs from the stake pocket holes in order to install the back clamps. I have an undercover swing out tool box so opening and closing the back panel is so much easier than the soft cover units. I like the slim design and the black diamond surface looks great!

by:

Very good product, easy to install. Very strong while thin and easy to fold.
I certainly recommend this product.
It installed on the side rails inside the bed.
The look is great. So far the best I ever had.
But the most is that It could be removed completely very easily!! so I don't have any folded cover on the back window of my truck.....

by:

Had for 1 year now. Easy to use. Was easy to install on my Ridgeline.
Highly recommend

by:

Seals better than the last cover I had and looks great. No drain tubes to deal with.

by:

Great hard tonneau cover - its everything advertised and more. It is very durable, fits perfect, good value and a year old now, it still looks brand new, I would buy it again in a heart beat when its time to replace, but by the looks of it, it will be a while...I definitely recommend!!

by:

With son-in-law's help it was a simple and fast install. Only took us about 20 minutes from box to bed. The fit is great so far. No problem with water going through car wash but dust off road is another matter. Recent seal around tail gate yet to be tested. Overall a good product and very happy with it. Anyone in the market for a bed cover that is easy to install-use and keep your stuff secure this is the one

by:

I wish the arrival date had been more accurate but it all worked out.

by:

The rails were a little wonky to install, mainly because the lip on them that sits on the truck bed rail is only about 1-2 mm wide. Made it a little tricky. Also the alcohol wipe that came with it was completely dried out. Not a big deal, but still. Otherwise, it seems as advertised, although I've only had it a couple days at this point.

by:

Still looks new after a year in the elements. I like how easy it is to take on and off, depending on what I'm loading in the truck. The seal over the tailgate isn't perfect, as it lets in a tiny bit of water (dripping, not flowing) in the corners during hard rain, but not that big a deal.

by:

We did not receive this item yet. UPS tracking shows it was delivered to the wrong address, which was a truck stop in Charleston TN about 10 or 15 miles away from our house. UPS is trying to find it. :-(

by:

After a year, there are a few honest dings and scratches (it's not a show truck). But.. you really have to look for them. I was afraid an aluminum tonneau cover would be a glare problem, but it hasn't been... and it still looks grand on a silver truck. I specifically wanted a hard cover, and I've found it eminently functional, easy to adjust to different loads (full cover, 1/3 bed cover, or removed), and the side rails haven't impeded anything I want to put in the bed (up to and including a full size carriage axle). When folks ask "Where'd you find an aluminum tonneau?" I send them to etrailer.com because I'm happy with y'all.

by:

Very happy with this product. Works exactly as was shown on the video. No leaks and everything is secure......I've had many compliments as well. The only issue I had was when I received the the cover it had a large scratch. I never reported it as it is on the underside and the only time someone sees it is when I have the cover folded open.
