These chains are great for giving you extra traction in deep snow. But if you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions, you may want a chain with square or V-bar links that can really bite into the ice for more traction.
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new snow chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing tire chains is easy.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
2. Drape the chain over your tires, making sure that the prongs attaching the cross chains to the side chains face away from your sidewalls. Drive forward about half a tire rotation.
3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the front of the tire, then clamp the lever to fasten extra chain links and keep them from flapping as you drive.
4. Insert the included tool into the cam and twist to tighten the sidewall chain. Twist as many cams as it takes to get a tight fit.
5. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chains tension. Tighten any loose cams.
If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to get a tight fit. Make sure the hooks face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.

Perfect fit for my van.
I drive a 2016 144" 2wd, high top Sprinter van. During the summer it moves a lot of ice cream, via 400lb ice cream carts. During the winter, it moves me to Mammoth. When the conditions are good (for skiing).....road conditions suck...super cold and icy.....395 from Bishop to Mammoth is often closed, and if open...chains or 4x4 snow tires mandatory.
I've purchased other products here...This site consistently provides useful revues and sizing fitment advise...I also took etrailer's recommendation to my regular tire guy to confirm is was a good match- which he confirmed.
*Any Sprinter specific owners reading this.....the stock tires felt super sketchy in icy high sierra without the chains. But with them on, and, since I roll with a 750lb. lift gate weighing down the back end.....back tires chained up.....I felt really safe. I did need to trim a 3-4 links off to stop the inside access chain links banging on the axel (bolt cutters from Mammoth Chevron) after a day of riding around on them to make sure I had correct fit. This level of fitment should be expected.

Chains fit well, are heavy duty, and the included tightener tool worked great. Cam Tighteners are a must. Makes the job of putting the chains on easier.
I bought the dual wheel version chains for the back end as well. We tend to get ice under snow on a gravel lane. These chains should keep me moving.

If you have been searching the internet for tire chains, look no further. I had recently decided to purchase a set of chains for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner. After an extensive search with the local auto retailers, and unhappy with the price they were charging, I had come across etrailer.com on the internet. Not only was etrailer.com cheaper by $30+ than everyone else, but immediately after my purchase, the customer service sales rep (George J) had emailed me with the invoice and had also indicated that he had upgraded the shipping to "expedited" which was greatly appreciated given the fact that he did not charge for this added higher level of customer service. The chains arrived right on time as promised via UPS. The quality is perfect. Almost polished in appearance with galvanized hardened steel. Also, they included a unique feature that I had not seen before "Cam Tighteners". If you haven't seen them before just watch the online video! They work great. Overall, I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I really appreciated the communication with George J. He kept me in the loop from start to finish. Given the fact that this purchase is "just a set of tire chains" but I really appreciated communication and price.
These chains are excellent. They're a bit tricky to get on tight (so maybe not so great if you will be taking them off and putting them on repeatedly) but once on and secure, they are perfect for the plow truck.
Chains were easy to install, and fit properly. To date I have not had to use them in a snow situation. If the repel snow storms, the were well worth the money.
Chains are a good thing to have on board this time of year though.
Tire Chains are as advertised. Shipping was fast...etrailer.com is always the first place I look at for my RV parts. Their customer service is second to none, by far the best.
I use these on my 87 F 250 snowplow truck. I put them on in the fall and take them off in the spring. I really like the cams. They are holding up very well after a year of service.
Web site and ordering procedure is excellent. Did not need the chains for our big Christmas trip as weather was mild but the design with the cam-tighteners is the best I've seen. Best price, too.

These shipped the same day I ordered them and arrived a day earlier than expected. Two days later I used them for the first time and they were perfect. Easy and quick to install (~20 min even though I've never used chains of any type before) and gave me plenty of traction and confidence on the snow and ice. I am a delivery driver and these will undoubtedly save me many headaches and frustration since usually I don't have much of a choice which roads I have to drive in winter weather.
