Solera RV Slide Topper Awning

Without a slide-topper, the roof of your slide-out room is continually exposed and can accumulate leaves and bugs and different types of debris. That debris can build up along the rubber strip at the top of your box, preventing a firm seal when your slide-out is retracted. Rain water can then get in and pool on the top of your slide-out. If you don't clear the water off each time it rains, mold can begin to form. And when your slide-out is pulled in, that mold gets inside your RV.

Solera RV Slide Topper Awning

The Solera RV slide-out awning alleviates those problems by serving as a protective covering over the top of your RV's slide-out. Not only does it prevent debris from collecting on the roof of your slide-out, but it keeps water from pooling and potentially causing damage down the road. Because it mounts directly to the front of the slide box, the slide-out awning is able to automatically extend and retract every time the slide-out room is extended or retracted.

Durable Vinyl Fabric

Solera RV Slide Out Awning Fabric

The durable awning fabric holds up to the rigors of the outdoors. It's made of premium 13.5-oz vinyl, which is an upgrade over the 10-oz fabric used in many awnings. This fabric also features heat-welded seams to prevent leaks. And it is made to withstand cold temperatures down to -25 degrees Fahrenheit, so it won't crack or degrade during the winter.

Simple Installation

Use the self-tapping screws to secure the included access plate to the side of your slide-out, positioning the plate at the bottom of the T-molding. The two access brackets slide easily onto the access plate's track. The rods that are located at each end of the roller tube, which comes with the awning fabric already mounted, slide through the hole in the two access brackets.

The included awning rail is used to anchor the other side of the fabric to your RV. This rail can be mounted up to 5" above the trim on top of your slide box.

Solera RV Slide-Out Awning - 7'1" Wide - 48" Projection - Black - LCV000165062

Average Customer Rating:  4.7 out of 5 stars   (711 Customer Reviews)

Good quality slide-out awnings! Installation was straightforward, no issues. Very happy to find that they have pretty high spring tension so they won't sag anytime soon. My slides measured right between the awning size recommendations, and I decided to go with the smaller of the two options. They don't hang over the slides as much as I would have liked, but I still think this is better than having them hang TOO far over, and risk the extension arms failing, or pulling the screws out.
On a side note, I had a problem with shipping, and eTrailer was AWESOME in getting me a replacement part that was missing! Very happy!

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with these awnings. I installed them exactly as the Lipert videos instructed.I even went inside to view the videos several times as not to make any mistakes. The awnings worked fine for a while, I had purchased 3 of them. We went on a 5 week trip to the west and about half way through, 2 of the were stating to have a hard time opening. We had to push on the slide out from inside to get them to go out correctly as the strain from the awnings were pulling the slide out. Upon our return, I contacted etrailer and they agreed to exchange if we shipped them back to them. I was able to fabricate a long box from 4 [online]l lamp boxes and was ready to ship. To our surprise the cost of shipping would be $1652.72. I contacted eTrailer about this and they said they could not help. I'm not sure how etrailer is able to ship it to me and still make a profit but this sucks. I recommend not buying this sort of item from etrailer. Go the your RV dealer, it may save you a lot of grief.

I reached out to Lippert who suggested to uninstall and reinstall the toppers. It should not be hard to push the slide topper out. It could be a bad spring or one that has seized that would need to be replaced.

While we love the slide out on our travel trailer, that is nothing but a potential problem. Leaves and debris lay on top and eventually prevent a good seal when closed, water pooling and potential leaking...and the list goes on.

We made the decision to buy and self install the Solera Slide Topper. The topper arrived in a large, well packed cardboard tube. All parts were present. It took my wife and I about 1:45 minutes to complete the installation. We are super pleased with how it turned out and have no complaints at all. Once again...eTrailer to the rescue!

I will note a couple of things that buyers/installers need to be aware of. While none of these are a deal breaker...knowledge is power. Some of the hardware (screws) are not painted black. After installation, I took a can of black spray paint and sprayed a little in a paper cup and used a Q-tip to apply the paint to the unpainted heads. The other thing is the tension. Wow...that is one strong spring! I found that the tension was so tight that it actually prevented the top of the slide out from fully extending. I knew this because before installing it I actually felt how tight the inside seal was against the interior wall when the slide was out. After the install I could easily slip my fingers between the inside trailer wall and the slideout seal. I ended up unwinding the spring by two full turns. After that, the slideout seal was firm against the interior wall! Yea! The awning itself was still very taunt and without sag.

A word of caution about removing the spring keeper pin or unwinding the arm. Make sure you FULLY understand what you are doing. That is NOT something you want to mess up on. While we had no problems in doing this...I am familiar with spring loaded rotational forces and understand the instant damage they can do!

Very pleased...and would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to cover and protect your slide out!

Our slide-out awning is still functioning perfectly. Since I had loosened the tension a bit I was concerned about it maintaining good tension over time. No problem. Still perfect! There is no noted degradation of the canopy or hardware. Thanks!
Travis - 01/04/2020

Bought 5 of these, for each of my slides. Overall awnings work well. However, the awning material quickly got little pin holes, and one entire string came out. I will get by with them for a couple years, but expect I will have to replace the material sooner than expected.
Installation was fairly easy with 2 people.

The awning does have a one year warranty which would include the fabric.

I just installed this Solera Slide Topper on my 2018 Aerolite 242BHSL. The product seems great so far. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the installation instructions. The very last written instruction was to remove the pins meant to keep tension during shipping. There are no photos of this process and I believe they should be removed earlier in the install process. I had to move my slide in and out till I found just the right distance to unroll the topper and align the brackets on the slide. Once the pins were removed it worked flawlessly so far.

Nice toppers

I am guessing most would be happy with a successful delivery. Etrailer goes above and beyond each and every time. I ordered this on a Wednesday with an expectation of a week or more. It arrived in 2 days. Packaged well and complete. I called in to verify the dimensions for a slide awning and ended up ordering it online as well. Installation is straight forward however there is a ton of support if things don’t go well. I am a long time etrailer customer because of their commitment to good service.
Can’t go wrong with etrailer. Great job guys!

First hardware package only had 4 of 10 screws needed for brackets otherwise everything worked out well

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

One of the best additions we’ve made to our 5th wheel. I’m glad we got these slide covers. A little bit of an effort to install, but any one mechanical inclined will have no problem.
I’m happy with them.

Awning in stock with a great price and fast shipping Thanks Etrailer

Here are some pics of the Solera 7.5 Slide Awning installed on a Palomino Solaire 205 SS.
Everything went well. Easy to install. It is a great product!
[Thumbs up]

Now after one year of use the slide-out covers “awnings” work still great! No signs of use, look like new. Super happy with the purchase and as usual with the etrailer - that is always my first place to go for my towing and camping gear.

Fast, easy ordering process at a very competitive price. eTrailer provides great support for the products they sell.My Winnebago Trailer Facebook Group would agree.

Response to customer problems is excellent. Products shipped by them are packaged by the manufacturer. I have received two items from the same manufacturer with almost identical problems. It was something that I could correct but was disappointing. Again, it wasn't the fault of etrailer.

This is a quality item! Very well made and installed without issue. Watch several UTibe videos first because I closed directions are inadequate. Best advice: spray some graphite in the slide tube before sliding the rail in.

We purchased five solera slide toppers for our fifthwheel they are the best additions to our rig we couldn't be happier. The installation was a breeze with the etrailer video. The inside of our trailer stays much cleaner with this product. And they look great.

Sorry for the long delay but here's a couple of quick images of the slide topper. Product was identical as described, shipped quickly and easy to install. Installation brackets and fasteners we're spot on! Thanks for everything and again what an awesome product.

Just about finished install today with only the screws to hold fabric in the rail left after making sure everything is aligned. I installed this by myself with scaffolding but sure would've been easier with one more person. One safety pin was very hard to remove from the roller as somehow the invisible end was bent and I had to use vice grips and a hammer to finally pull it out freeing the fabric. No reason that should have happened as that end of the pin wasn't visible.

Easy to install, works great. The online videos were very helpful.

Products were excellent and fit perfect ly.

After I placed an order for a slide topper, etrailer sent an email indicating it was not in stock. However, they told me when it would ship approximately and they kept in touch during the waiting period. The item was delivered in excellent condition. I would not hesitate to use etrailer as my Internet source for my camping trailer needs.

We have since traded that trailer so, I cant give you a long term review. However, I was so pleased with etrailer that I ordered and installed 2 slide toppers for our new unit.
Burt B - 01/24/2018

Product lacked all the necessary screws , only three were missing but were the ones required to secure the mounting plates. Had to make a trip to local hardware store to secure replacements. Directions are okay but not great, recommend watching installation video on youtube a couple of times first, then directions make more sense.

Been a year and working great!
Robert - 06/26/2021

The awnings were shorter than they wanted to use but was told that they would be ok to use so acceptable the shorter awnings. The Unit looks good and the awnings seems to be working. Overall very good job.

On time delivery, good instructions for installation.
Thank you for making the job easy.

Ordered on a Sunday and shipped on Monday. Received on Thursday in perfect condition. Product was as shown and works perfect

Your width measurement of 81-1/2-inches is compatible with the Solera 7.5-Foot Slide Topper # LCV000165062. Please refer to the linked article and review video for more.
