Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

These Titan Chain diamond-pattern chains are great winter weather chains. If you live in an area where you're likely to get frequent snow and ice, these chains are perfect because they're durable and easy to mount. The links on these chains are thicker than the links on most other low-profile snow chains on the market, so they'll wear better and last longer. But they're still lightweight and compact, so they store in your vehicle nicely too. If you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions, you may want a chain with V-bar links that can really bite into the ice to give you maximum traction.

These chains are among the easiest and fastest to install because they have built-in tensioners that you can just pull taut to adjust the fit. These tensioners allow the chains to fit your tires, no matter the profile or wear pattern. And because the tensioners are built-in, you never have to worry about losing them like you might with other chains on the market.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Installing Tire Chains

Installing these chains is incredibly simple.

Lay chains on the ground to get all the tangles out

1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.

Slide chains behind the tire

2. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.

Make connections behind the tire

3. Connect the ends of the cable, which will sit behind the tire.

Attach green hook to yellow side chains

4. Around front, connect the 2 ends of the yellow side chain using the green hook at the top of the tire.

Feed tensioner through clips

5. At the bottom of the tire, feed the silver tensioning chain through the red channel bracket and pull it taut. Then run the tensioner through as many red clips along the side chain as you can, leaving room to still be able to stretch the hook across the tire.

Recheck tension

6. Attach the hook to the side chain directly across from the last clip you ran the tensioner through. The hook should face away from your tire. Pull your vehicle forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the tension.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

  • Best Snow Chain Options for Tire Size 225/75R16 on RV
We have several great and different options for tire chains for the size 225/75R16 that you have on your RV. The absolute best and easiest option is the Easy Fit part # TH04115245 which install in a matter of seconds, provide great traction, and also will last the longest. The are higher in price. If you wanted a higher quality chain with a lower price that would take a bit longer to install the Konig standards part # TH01571245 will offer great traction and last a long time but will...

  • Best Snow Tire Chains for a 2018 Ram ProMaster 2500 with 225/75-16 Tires
I have great news for you. The owner's manual for your ProMaster is very lenient in regards to tire chain use on your vehicle which means you have an excellent selection to choose from. The only restrictions are that you install them on the front two tires and they are a non-cam type. The Titan Chain # TC2519 is a good choice. These chains have a diamond pattern and will provide a much smoother ride than the ladder pattern of the Glacier Alloy as well as offer more grip. They also have...

  • Which is Better Snow Chains for Tire Size 235/75R15 Titan or Konig Chains
The Titan chains you referenced # TC2519 are a really great value and they will do a solid job but the Konig chains part # TH2004705235 are the better option. They install a little easier, provide better traction, and are made from harder metals so they will last a lot longer. This is definitely the way to go. For the absolute best option I would recommend the Konig Easy Fit Chains part # TH04115245 as they literally install in seconds as well as all of the other things I mentioned for...

  • Tire Chains For A 2018 Ford Transit 250 With 235/65-16 Tires
The best tire chains I recommend for the 2018 Ford Transit with 235/65-16 within that price range are the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - 1 Pair Item # TC2519. I recommend a diamond pattern chain over a ladder pattern because you have more chain covering the tire which offers better traction because you have more chain making contact with the ground and you have better ride quality. Each square link has two flat sides which means the chain is going...

  • Recommended Tire Chains For 2020 Jayco Redhawk 26XD Class C Motorhome With 225/75R16 Tires
For a single tire chain for the outside wheels on your 2020 Jayco Redhawk 26XD Class C Motorhome with 225/75R16 tires I recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2519 which include integrated tensioners that make securing the chain to your tires a breeze, and the square links which offer excellent traction in snow and ice. With that said I would still recommend a chain set for both rear tires, as you may still run into issues with traction. For an option that works with dual...

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2007 Ford E-350 Van
The chain link thickness is the difference between tire chains # TC2319 and # TC2519. The smaller TC2319 has 3.7mm links whereas the TC2519 has 5.5mm links. I checked the owner's manual for the 2007 Ford E-350 and it does require the use of Class S chains. The TC2319 chains are Class S but the TC2519 chains are not. So between the two I would go with # TC2319 if your van has 225/75-16 tires. If you have a different tire size let me know.

  • Recommended Tire Chains For a Ford Transit T250 Crew Van
Yes, looking at the owners manual for your 2020 Ford Transit T250 you are required to use SAE Class S snow chains or cables. You will need to confirm your ability to use tire chains based on your tire size and drive type in the owners manual. Assuming that you have the 235/65R16 tires and either a rear wheel drive or AWD non dually axle I recommend the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH01594245. These use a self-centering, self-tensioning system with nylon bumpers that will not...

  • Recommended Tire Chains for 2018 Ram ProMaster 1500
The tire chains I recommend for your 2018 Ram ProMaster 1500 are the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2319 because not only do they offer outstanding traction but the links are just 0.145 inches and are Class S compatible, which means they will be better for clearance between the chains and wheel well than the thicker Titan # TC2519 you referenced. The Titan Chains # TC2319 have a diamond pattern to maximize stopping power and have a simple, drape-over installation. I have included...

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for 2013 Jeep Wrangler with 225/75-16 Size Tires
You didn't tell me what tire size you do have, but chances are you have the 225/75-16 as both tire chains you mentioned are a fit for this size. Essentially both chain sizes will provide you with the same thing in terms of performance and install. The chains are slightly different size but there is a bit of overlap between tire sizes and the chains that fit them. The slightly bigger set is the # TC2319 which would probably be your better option since you have off road tires.

The best tire chains for your 1988 Ford F-150 with 235/75R15 size tires are the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2519. These chains feature square links that are configured in the "diamond" pattern for great traction on snow and excellent grip for ice. They have a manganese nickel alloy construction that strengthens them but also helps to protect against rust. A reusable plastic storage case is included as well as the integrated tensioner. Yes, the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2519 you referenced are confirmed to fit the 225/75R16 size tires that you have on your 2014 Thor Axis motorhome. Please note that if you are wanting to install these on the dual rear wheels you need different chains as these are for single tire applications.
