Features to Know About

Flat Hooks for Flatbeds

Designed for stake pockets and trailer edges. No hunting for small anchor points, and the wide hook face helps spread the load at the rail.

Safe Load Use

The working load limit is what counts, not the break strength. Each strap's rated for 3,333 lbs. If your cargo's heavier, add another strap and tighten it down. Better to be safe than chasing your load down the road.

Video Transcript for Feature Review etrailer Ratchet Strap w/ Flat Hooks

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this etrailer 20 foot long ratcheting tie-down strap with the flat hooks, has a 3,335 pound working load limit. Now, this is a nice heavy-duty tie-down strap that'll let you secure the cargo in your truck bed or your trailer. The ratchet mechanism right here, we're gonna zoom in on just so we can talk about it, it's a nice sturdy ratchet mechanism, makes it very easy to tighten down your strap, helps you maintain tension on the strap. And if you noticed, the handle's a nice, long, wide, hard rubber handle, gives you a nice good grip even if you have gloves on. The release lever right down here also has a piece of hard rubber on there, and that'll let you disengage the ratchet when you're ready to unload.

So basically, this way, you can ratchet it. When you pull up on this release lever all the way, put it all the way open like that, that'll lock it into the free wheel position. And if you noticed, now, you can just pull out as much strap as you need to get the length you need. Once you get it, the length you need, pull up on that release lever, put it back in the ratchet, and then go ahead and tighten it down. And then once you get it as tight as you need it, what you wanna do is engage the safety lock, and that's just going the other way.

Pull up on your release lever, push it all the way down, lock it, and that'll keep it locked into place, so it won't go anywhere. The hooks on each end, let me zoom back out, if you noticed the hooks on each end, they are nice, wide flat hooks that'll let you anchor the strap to rails, edges, or other similar tie-down points. The strap itself is a two inch wide durable polyester webbing, as the hooks on each end, they're abrasion resistant. And if you noticed, this strap is a nice bright yellow color, so it makes very easy to see. Again, the quantity, it's for one ratchet strap.

The dimensions, two inches wide, 20 feet in length, maximum load on this is 10,000 pounds, which is the brake strength, but you do wanna go by the safe working load limit, which on this would be the 3,335 pounds. Now, one note I do wanna mention, tie-down straps and their accessories must be chosen according to their safe working load limit, meaning the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are being used. So for example, just to give you an idea here, if you're using straps that would have a working load limit of 500 pounds each and you're tying down a load weighing 1,000 pounds, that's gonna basically mean you need two straps to safely secure that load, and it is usually recommended that you always use straps in pairs. But that should do it for the review on the etrailer 20 foot long ratcheting tie-down straps with the flat hooks and a 3,335 pound working load limit.
