Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the Triangle 215/75R 17.5 radial tire with a low range H and it's mounted on a 17 1/2 inch black solid center steel trailer wheel with an offset and an eight on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this tire wheel assembly is designed for use on heavy duty trailers. The wheel is a heavy duty wheel, which is sturdy steel construction. It is a solid center design wheel. Gives you excellent corrosion resistance.

And if you notice, has a black powder coat finish over an e-coat primer on the front and even on the back of the wheel. Now this is a hub piloted wheel, which has a pilot hole diameter of 4.76 inches, and it centers exactly on the hub. And by hub piloted, of course, they mean when you go to put this on your axle, it'll center exactly here. And if you'll notice the lug holes, they don't have any bevel to 'em, they're non chafer bolt holes. And that's because you're gonna use flange nuts to tighten it down.

Because of that, requires the 5/8 by 18 size flange nuts for installation. Those we do sell separately. So basically when you go to put this on, it's gonna center on the pilot hole, not on the lugs. Also, this wheel does offer, it has a 0.19 inch positive offset and that's gonna mean that the wheel moves toward the trailer frame. So basically the offset is measured from the mounting surface right here of the wheel.

So if this mounting surface of the wheel is right at the center, that's the zero or the starting point. If it moves towards the outside of the wheel, that's positive offset. If it moves back to the inside of the wheel, that's a negative offset. So this one has a 0.19 positive offset, which means that mounting surface is moving 0.19 inches towards the front, and that's why it's going to move this tire wheel some toward the trailer frame. The diameter on the wheel is 17 1/2 inches.

The width on just the wheel 6 3/4 inches. Bolt pattern is an eight on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel like this, that's an even number of lugs. In this case, eight, it's pretty easy because the lug holes are directly across from each other. So all you have to do is pick any hole. Let's say this one measure from the center of the hole, across to the center of the hole, right across from it. On this it'll measure 6 1/2 inches. So it's an eight lug, 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. The wheel weight capacity is 6,005 pounds. Now this tire that's mounted on it is a premium multi-use steer and all positioned radio tire. It is constructed with all steel belts to enhance durability and extend the tread life. If you notice this way, if you look, it has wide shoulders to promote even wear and better traction, and it uses an enhanced casing package that helps improve toughness and retread ability. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall 215/75R 17.5, R, means it's a radial. Section width, 8.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top, when it's inflated, it's 30.2 inches. And this tire is a load range H, which means it's a 16 ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity 4,805 pounds at 125 PSI. And the last thing I do wanna mention is it comes through with a speed rating stamped on the sidewall now. And it is a letter designation, and where you'll find that is right after the tire size, there'll be two numbers for the load index and then the letter L. L will mean that it's a 75 mile per hour speed rating.
