Keeping the axle steady under load starts with strong hardware. This TruRyde U-bolt plate is built from zinc-plated steel that meets ASTM specifications, giving it the strength and corrosion resistance needed for dependable suspension performance. It works with 3" diameter round trailer axles and 1-3/4" wide leaf springs, locking everything together securely when paired with (2) 1/2" diameter U-bolts (sold separately).
Lining everything up the first time makes the job go smoother. This plate is precision-drilled with 5/8" bolt holes, spaced 3-5/8" center-to-center in length and 2-3/8" center-to-center in width. With overall dimensions of 5-7/8" long by 3-3/4" wide and a plate thickness of 0.24", it matches up cleanly with your 3" axle and 1-3/4" spring stack so you can tighten it down with confidence.
Road grime, salt, and water can eat away at unprotected metal. The zinc plating on this TruRyde plate shields the steel underneath, helping it resist rust and stay solid through years of towing. Once in place, it keeps the U-bolts seated properly and the axle aligned so your suspension stays stable mile after mile.
When you’re hauling serious weight, every suspension part counts. Rated for 5,200 to 7,000 lb axles, this U-bolt plate delivers the strength needed to keep the axle clamped tight to the springs. It’s a simple, strong piece of hardware that keeps the load balanced and the trailer tracking straight.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this U-bolt plate for the three inch diameter round trailer axle with the one and three quarter inch wide leaf springs. Now this will fit a three inch diameter round trailer axle which are most 5,200 pound to 7,200 pound axles. This plate is used with U-bolts to secure the axle to the leaf springs which are then mounted to the trailer frame. These do attach using two half inch diameter U-bolts. Now I did wanna pop up an insert just to show you that happened as to show a tandem axle, but if you notice, it'll point out the U-bolts and the U-bolt plates, shows you where they're located on your suspension system.
Now this part here is just for the U-bolt plate but we do also sell the U-bolt separately if you need those also. Those are part number SPO1-060 and we also sell a complete kit which will be the plates with the U-bolts and that's part number APUBR-8. Both of those items we sell separately and they are listed on this product page as a related product. Typically, the U-bolts and the plates are replaced together when you replace your springs. That's because the U-bolts are generally rusted and most often need to be cut off your suspension system in order to be removed.
This plate is constructed of zinc plated steel. As we mentioned, it works with one and three quarter inch wide leaf springs. Few dimensions I want to give you on this if we measure the overall length here going this way, gonna be right at five and seven eighths inches long. The width, three and three quarter inches wide. Now the bolt holes here that the U-bolts will go through, if we measure the longest center to center distance, you can see it's gonna be right at three and five eighths inches.
And if we go this way, center to center, right at two and three eighths inches, and the diameter of these bolt holes is five eighths of an inch. But that should do it for the review on the U-bolt plate for the three inch diameter round trailer axle with the one and three quarter inch wide leaf springs.

Ratings & Reviews
Great solid quality, not like some of the cheap knock offs with the added ribs for strength on the lighter material styles. Holes are spot on. Glad I went with these.
Just what I ordered heavy duty
The distance between the holes do not match the U-Bolts.. only a couple mm off... but off.. I am underwhelmed as I specifically asked if they would work.
I had to drill out the holes to make them bigger as the U-Bolt doesn't fit correctly as-is. Hard to show in pictures but I think you can see the issue.
I tried to upload the pictures but they would not upload so I am emailing them separately.
Fortunately, drilling the holes bigger seems to have solved the issue, but that really should not have been necessary, especially as I double checked that this plate would work with these u-bolts.

I could not believe a simple part like this could not be obtained at any auto parts store, but that is the case. etrailer.com came through like "nothing to it, how many would you like?" Trailer is back on the road again thanks to etrailer.com
Plates were perfect fit fo my 3 “ axle on my fifth wheel trailer
Just what I needed for my trailer build. I like the fact they are nice and thick (about .20” thick). Remember to prime and paint so they don’t rust out.
product was right and just like factory ones on my trailer. just jack
up axle to get weight off springs and undo 4 nuts and remove old plate and install new one. fit perfect.
