It uses 5/8" diameter U-bolts (sold separately) to clamp your 5" round axle firmly to 2-1/2" wide leaf springs, keeping everything in place mile after mile.
Getting the right fit means better handling and less stress on suspension parts. This plate is made precisely for round trailer axles with a 5" diameter and works with 2-1/2" wide leaf springs. The layout and hole spacing are dialed in so the U-bolts seat evenly around the axle for consistent clamping force and a steady ride.
A tough plate helps spread the load from the U-bolts across the leaf springs. Measuring 9" long by 5" wide, with bolt holes spaced 5-3/4" center-to-center lengthwise and 3-1/4" across, this plate delivers a snug, balanced mount. The 3/4" bolt holes match 5/8" U-bolts for the right amount of clearance and strength where it counts.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at this U-bolt plate for the five inch diameter round trailer axle with the two and a half inch wide leaf springs. Now this plate will fit the five inch diameter round trailer axles, which are used on most 10,000 pound axles. And this plate is used with U-bolts to secure the axle to your leaf springs which are then mounted to the trailer frame. These do attach with two five eighths inch diameter U-bolts which we do sell separately on our website and they wanna pop up an insert to show you that happens to be a tandem axle. But if you look close, it'll point out where the U-bolts are and where this U-bolt plate is located.
Now this part is just for the U-bolt plate but we also do sell the U-bolt separately. Those are part number 11-77 and typically the U-bolts and the plates are replaced together when you replace your springs. And the reason is because the U-bolts are generally rusted and most often need to be cut off your suspension system in order to be removed. This part is constructed of zinc plated steel. It is designed to work with two and a half inch wide leaf springs.
Few dimensions on this I wanna measure for you. The overall dimensions we go all the way from one end to the other is right at nine inches. And if we go this way, it's gonna be right at five inches. Now the bolt holes you can see right here if we go center to center lengthwise, it's gonna be right at this way, right at five and three quarter inches. And if we do it this way, center to center bolt holes three and a quarter inches, and the diameter on these bolt holes is three quarters of an inch.

The plates seem to be made well. I haven't had time to install them. So im hopeing they fit well. Shipping was poor through the postal service. They were supposed to be here on 9-2 but dident show up until 9-8. But I know you guys can't control Shipping. The product seems to be made well.
