A strong connection between the axle and springs is what keeps a trailer steady. This U-bolt is built from 5/8" diameter steel to lock a 10,000-lb, round axle firmly to the leaf springs. It’s 8-7/8" long with a 5" inner width, giving plenty of reach and bite for a tight, reliable hold that won’t shift under weight or rough roads.
Keeping alignment right starts with the right dimensions. This U-bolt is designed specifically for 5" diameter, round axles so the fit is solid without forcing or gaps. Used along with a U-bolt plate and a matching bolt (each sold separately), it secures the axle to the springs cleanly and evenly for balanced suspension movement.
Every connection point matters when you’re dealing with heavy loads. This setup includes two locknuts that stay tight even through vibration and long hauls. When torqued to the correct 100-120 ft-lbs range, they hold firm so the suspension stays clamped and the axle stays put.
There’s no overthinking here—just a heavy-duty U-bolt that does the job right. Paired with its plate and a second matching bolt, it ties the axle and springs into one solid unit. It’s the kind of part you install once and trust to keep your trailer tracking straight mile after mile.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 11-77. This is the replacement U-bolt for a 10,000 pound round trailer axles. This U-bolt in conjunction with a U-bolt plate and an additional U-bolt that would be the same as this one, you could easily attach your round 10,000 pound axle to your lease strings. This unit is going to figure round trailer axles with a 5-inch diameter. It's going to include two lock nuts and one U-bolt. Now if we take a measurement of the opening here, inside edge to inside edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about five inches. The bolt diameter is going to measure 5/8ths of an inch.
The length that we have, measuring from the bottom of the curve to the end of the threaded portion, it's going to give us a measurement of eight and 7/8ths of an inch. Our studs are going to be separated by five and 3/4ths of an inch on center and if we take a measurement of the threaded portion, just the length of the threads, that's going to give us a measurement of about two and 5/16s of an inch. That's going to do it for our review of part number 11-77.

Excellent, fit great and work well.
As expected. Good, strong steel for my utility trailer.
Sometimes finding a custom size for a non-standard project can be frustrating. Not with Etrailer. A few clicks is all I needed to find the part I required. I'm restoring an old Airstream, and this u-bolt will be holding the center pipe to the floor platform. It's exactly the size and strength I need for the job.
