A harsh ride or uneven trailer motion often starts with worn equalizers. This Dexter Equalizer connects the slipper springs on tandem- or triple-axle setups, transferring load and impact from one axle to another. The result is a smoother ride with better weight distribution. Its strong steel construction holds up to miles of use and keeps the suspension steady across bumps and dips.
Creaking and vibration can make towing noisy and rough. The rubber bushing pressed into the center hole of this equalizer helps isolate noise and soften vibration so the suspension moves quietly. It’s built right into the equalizer, cutting down on metal-on-metal contact and helping the trailer track smoother.
Durability matters when your suspension sees constant motion. This equalizer is made from heavy steel and measures 18-3/8" long with a 1-1/8" center bolt hole and 1" side bolt holes. It’s sized for 3" wide slipper springs with a 3-1/8" internal width where the spring rests. That solid build means reliable operation under load and long service life.
You don’t have to replace the whole equalizer when wear eventually shows up. The center bushing on this Dexter Equalizer can be replaced, making upkeep simple and affordable. That keeps your suspension tight and smooth without swapping the entire assembly.
Whether you’re working with a tandem or triple setup, this equalizer fits both left and right sides. It mounts to the center hanger and connects directly to the front and rear slipper springs using standard keeper and shackle bolts. That makes it straightforward to install and ensures consistent alignment across the suspension system.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at eTrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this equalizer for three inch wide slipper springs. Now the equalizers are suspended from the center hanger on your trailer, and they serve as a link between the leaf springs on multi-axle trailers. These equalizers will swing front to back and transfer weight from one axle to another specifically when you drive over a bump and the transfer of weight will equalize the weight being carried by all the axles and allows for a nice, smooth transfer of the impact through the suspension system. Now, there is always one equalizer between two connecting springs in a multi-axle trailer system. This equalizer can be used on either the left or the right hand side of the trailer.
Now there are some critical dimensions you wanna be aware of. So on this one we're going to give you those. Overall length, which is from this edge to this edge, that's gonna be right at 18 and three eighths inches overall length. Inside width, as I mentioned they're designed to fit three inch wide slipper springs. So the inside dimension is three and one eighths inches.
Now the length from the center of the front bolt hole right up here at the bottom to the center of the middle bolt hole right here. So let's see if we get that on the center to center you can see it's gonna be right about six and three quarter inches. Now from the center of the middle bolt hole to the center of the rear bolt hole. That's gonna get you right at seven and one eighths inches. The diameter of the center bolt hole is one and one eighth inches.
The diameter on the front bolt hole down here is a half an inch. And the diameter on this rear bolt hole is one inch. But that should do it for the review on the equalizer for three inch Wide slipper springs..
