Video Transcript for Peterson Clearance or Side Marker Trailer Light w/ Reflector Feature Review

Today we're going to take a quick look at the Peterson Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light with Reflex Reflector. This is going to be a necessary addition to your trailer, maybe to replace or upgrade an old light. The nice thing about this is that it has a reflector built in, so you can see it's reflecting that light back at you. Makes our trailer more visible, especially if we are moving around at night. Maybe we don't have our lights on, or the trailer's parked somewhere. It just makes it easier to see.In addition to that on the back we'll have our attachment point for our wiring.

It's going to accept a two prong wiring plug. This is sold separately. You can find them here at etrailer.com. This is just going to plug into place. You might notice that there was a little bit of gel on those terminals.

That's just some dielectric grease the manufacturer puts on there. That grease is going to help keep those terminals clean, keep them dry, and keep them from corroding over time.Once our plug is pushed down all the way, you can see our diode is going to light up. Or our incandescent bulbs, excuse me. And now we have our light function. Turn out the light in the studio.

You can see just how bright that's going to be. So not super bright, but just enough so that people can see us and see our brakes are on, or our running lights are on. Whatever we have this hooked up to.It is P2 rated, and basically that means that it can only really be seen from one side of the back of our trailer. So this doesn't really function as both the clearance and side marker light. You really need to use it as one or the other.

So if you want to have this for side and your clearance lights, you'll need to have two. Basically if you think of the corner of your trailer, it can only be seen from one order if you have it mounted on the edge. There's a diagram at etrailer.com on the product page that makes that a little bit clearer.It is DOT compliant and made in the U.S.A. the design of it is kind of a recessed flange with that reflector going around it. It comes with a little gasket. It's kind of a composite fiber. Sort of like a heavy duty paper material. Just helps to provide a little big of protection for our light. Seals it up. I don't think it would make it really weather tight, but just acts as another barrier for our light itself.Overall, from side to side it's about three inches in diameter. And just about seven eighths of an inch deep going from the front face of our light to the back of our terminals. The back diameter, if you we're to reset that in, that's going to be about two inches wide. The distance between our mounting holes, center to center, is about two and a quarter inches apart.That's going to do it for our look at the Peterson Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light with Reflex Reflector.
