Tips for Replacing and Installing Trailer Fenders

Do your best to match the dimensions of the new fender to your old one.
- If a fender was damaged during a blowout, use the opposite fender to get the dimensions.
As with all trailer maintenance, don't forget to chock your wheels before getting started.
For a bolt-on fender, use your existing mounting hardware, if possible.
- The old mounting bolts or screws might be stripped or rusted, in which case you'll need to tap them out and buy new hardware.
If removing an old, welded-on fender, either carefully chisel it off yourself or take your trailer to a weld shop to have the fender professionally removed.
Before you start drilling, position the fender where you need it and center it over your wheel well.
- Mark where you need to drill (measure twice, drill once).
Don't tighten down the mounting hardware completely until you're sure the fender is mounted correctly.

They my tire size is 5.30 - 12 and the fenders look amazing. I have them mounted 3.5 inches above the top of my tires. I’ve made my own bracket out of flat 1/8thick 2”wide aluminum. And I used one strip of VHB tape as a method to give additional vibration proof security to the side panel of my V Nose wall.

Old fenders were rotting through. These were a good match.They needed a bit of shaping which was easy since they're aluminum. And of course, they needed mounting holes drilled. One thing to remember, use some sort of separator between the steel chassis and the aluminum fenders to prevent corrosion.

The fenders have worked out great. They were installed on a special built trailer to carry a VW powered trike that I also built. Before I ordered this set of fenders I had also ordered a set to be installed on the trike. I am currently converting the trike to a much larger Subaru engine and was waiting until I made the engine change to install the second set. I will be installing them soon, as the engine has just been changed out. Thanks again for the quick service and I will contact E-trailer again in the future for my trailer and custom vehicle needs.

Bought two of these aftermarket fenders for DK2 trailer, replacing the very basic narrow fenders that cam with the unit. I also installed wider tires (from etrailer) with a higher speed rating to pull behind my motorhome. Absolutely love both the fenders and tires. Bought for a jetski trailer. They fit over the tires and into that mounts that were preexisting perfectly. Just had to drill 4 holes in each to through bolt. 1 year later and they’re still shiny and in great shape.

My husband needed to replace trailer fenders after replacing bias ply tires with 13" radials - tires slightly larger and wider than those replaced. I ordered this fender to extend the existing fenders on my trailer. I already bought 2 of them, then discovered that that did not look right. They left to much of a gap on the wheel well. so I bought one to cut it half to make a 12" fender. Pleased with quality and shipping.

These fenders are wide and heavy duty. There are no pre-drilled holes so you can mount it however you need to.

All of the products you listed will work together just fine. Keep in mind, if your current springs are not 26 inch springs, like the # e77SR you referenced, your hangers, # APS4, will not be in the exact same position as your current ones. When repositioning everything the most important factor is keeping the axle in the same location it currently is. How Long Is the Flat Portion of the Redline Trailer Fender # HP49VR
The flat portion of the top of this Aluminum Tread Plate Trailer Fender # HP49VR that you referenced is 13 inches, the entire top of the fender is 16 inches. Check out the picture I attached to see this measurement. As long as you used plenty of bolts to securely install this fender to your trailer there is no reason you could not bolt it to your trailer instead of welding it.
