Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the single axle slant back steel trailer fender for a quantity of one. Now this fender is designed to cover one tire on the side of your single axle boat trailer. It'll act as a splash guard, keeps running road debris from hitting other vehicles and it will help to protect your trailers' cargo. Now a slant back design it's typically used on boat trailers. And when I say slant back, what I'm talking about is if you look at this, I want to just show you a zoom in here so we can talk.
The very bottom right here is going to be wider than the top and the reason it slants back, it's designed to leave enough room for your boat while providing adequate coverage for your tire. Also, if you notice on the outer edge of this fender, it's a nice curved radius slip to it. Gives it a nice clean finished look. And this is a sturdy 16 gauge cold-rolled steel construction. This fender can be primed and then painted to provide even more resistance to corrosion and to match your trailer's paint finish. And this can be welded on or bolted on.
Now, if it is bolted on, it will require mounting brackets, which we do sell separate on our website. They're part number CE26061G-2. And again, those items are sold separately on our website. This fender is made in the USA. It is for quantity of one fender.
The application again, it's for single axle trailers with 14 inch to 15 inch diameter wheels. And as a general rule, when your trailer is loaded to its full capacity, there should be a minimum clearance of about three inches between the top of your tire and the underside of your fender.A few specs on this, the weight is about eight pounds. The dimensions, we first do the height. From the bottom the very top is right at 14 inches tall. The length from one end all the way to the other end is 32 inches long.
And then we mentioned the slant back, so it has a different measurement. The base is going to be wider. So again if we put the ruler on that, it's going to be right at about nine inches at the very bottom of the base. And at the very top in the middle here is going to be right at seven and three quarter inches. But that should do it for the review on this single axle slant back steel trailer fender for a quantity of one..
looks great
