This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Demco EZ Latch trailer coupler with the adjustable channel mount, fits a two and 5/16th diameter ball, and this has a 21,000-pound weight capacity. And if you notice, the coupler has a nice prime powder coat finish to it. Now, this is a cast ball coupler, it'll let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. As we mentioned, provides the connection point here for your two and 5/16th diameter hitch ball. Uses this EZ Latch mechanism, which will ensure a nice, simple, secure hookup and disconnect.
Basically, it will let you hook up when the latch is in the closed position like it is now, all you have to do is drop this coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will snap into place and you're ready to go. To remove it from the ball, just lift up on the handle. And I did wanna demonstrate that, I happened to pull, here's a two and 5/16th diameter hitch ball. So just to show you, if we put it over the ball. And then you can see, if you just push down, it snaps right into place and you're hooked up all ready to go.
Very easy if you see the latch barely popped up and down. So it saves you the time of having to get out, open it up, latch it, put it back down. And then to remove it, all you have to do, lift up on the handle and it removes it from the ball, very easy. Now, the EZ Latch itself, it is a corrosion-proof polymer nylon resin composite latch handle. It's very durable and impact-resistant.
And if you notice, what's nice about it, it's a very low-profile design, so it allows any hazards to simply slow slip over the top of the coupler, preventing any damage to the latch components. This EZ Latch coupler will feature a hole, you can see this hole right here, goes all the way through. And that's for a coupler lock. Once you're hooked up, if you insert a coupler lock through this hole, it'll keep the latch from lifting, preventing any disconnect and theft. Those coupler locks we do sell separately, they are usually listed on the bottom of the page as a related product.
Diameter of the pinhole here is 5/16th of an inch. The minimum span you need to work on this is about three inches. The adjustable channel bracket right here, this will weld onto the trailer with the included gussets right down here. Basically, you just bolt a coupler to the back bracket with the four included grade five bolts. It is a four-bolt attachment, provides a nice, secure, rattle-free connection. The channel bracket itself, if we measure it, the height on it, it's gonna be right at 12 inches tall. The inside diameter right at three inches. And the mounting holes, if you measure center-to-center, the distance between them is two inches. It is a sturdy steel construction. You can see the coupler itself has a nice tan prime powder coat finish, gives you actually corrosion resistance. Has a 500-hour salt spray rating, so it has great for marine applications. It is made in the USA. And the last thing I just wanna mention again, the ball size it fits is a two and 5/16th diameter, and the weight capacity is 21,000 pounds. Excellent coupler. Fit my single axle trailer with the adjustable channel mount. Makes connecting the trailer to my ATV or car super easy. Much better than a regular coupler that is difficult to engage and disengage.
Best coupler I have found. Have converted three trailers to these. When moving a trailer with a ball hitch adapter on a piece of equipment (3-point hitch on a tractor in our case), the auto-latch feature lets you attach to the trailer without getting off the machine.

This is installed on a dump trailer so we needed a cast hitch--the original was steel and the gusset underneath bent with use and abuse to the point of only being functional with the aid of a 5LB hammer.
I had to grind a little on the back end to make the bolts align to both holes (maybe 1/16th?) but other than that, it is a step up from the original hitch.
Yes, I know this will void any warranty.
Great replacement coupler, however be aware it does not include the pin lock. So essentially it is non usable until a pin lock is acquired. That in itself seems easy until you try and find a 5/16 diameter that is at least 3.5 inches long locally to use quick.
Perfect addition to my new trailer.The original junk coupler was a pita to use.Had to use free hand to hold lock back while jacking up to remove trailer from truck.Honestly looking forward to using the trailer now.
I borrowed a trailer last year equipped with the Demco and it was my first experiance with it and I loved it so I bought one.I like the release handle yea its plastic but honestly dont see how a person could break it but Im sure it will be done but not on my trailer
Also like the fact that it will latch with lever down It does have hole for safety pin which I bought from local trailer shop.I encourage anyone looking at these couplers to watch Demcos YT video
Worked perfect with the adjustable weld on channel. Was able to drop the ball coupler 10” from the old lunette height on an M1101 military trailer. Not a lot of fab work, just a couple of 3/8” plates and bolted them up and welded the channel on an bolted the ball coupler at the height I needed to level the trailer when towing with my Jeep Galdiator.
Just as described and couldn't be any happier with the delivery time(about 24 hrs.) Thanks Pat in Terre haute indiana

Love the coupler. Easy latching/unlatch. Very well thought out product.
I didn’t use the bolts it came with. Just got two grade 8 bolts like my pj trailer came with, easier to adjust.
I ordered a black coupler set. You told me it would be available in several weeks, by Sept 20 something. I went online to look and you pushed the delivery out until late Oct or early Nov. I called and you actually have one in stock but it's white. I don't care about the color. I asked your rep to sell me the white one for the same price. He refused. How do you get $[XX] more for white??? I paid it as I need the trailer back. You are better than this.
I have this same hitch on another trailer and is the easiest to use and no question it's locked. E-trailer is always willing to answer questions about product and are very knowledgeable about products.
have been useing these couplers for a couple of years now. really like the ease in hooking trailers up. ability to adjust height of coupler after its installed is very convient. would recommend this coupler to any and all.
Great upgrade to my heavy trailers. Would be 5 stars if the locking pin hole would accept a larger diameter lock or a padlock.
