The Replacement 2" and 2-5/16" Dual-Sided Hitch Ball for Curt 2" Adjustable Ball Mount # C45912 will fit inside a 3" channel and the Curt 5-Position Adjustable Channel Bracket # C48650 is a 3" channel, so they will indeed fit together. Out of curiosity, what are you wanting to install this on? Most people get this ball as a replacement for the ball mount. Can't say I have had anyone ask about using it in a channel like this before.

  Hey Scott. The Curt Channel-Mount Coupler # C25328 is designed to fit Curt adjustable channels like the 3-position # C48610 and 5-position # C48650. There is no adjustment on this coupler to tighten it around the 2-5/16" ball, so if you're getting excessive play I'd also check the ball size and inspect the ball and latch for wear. If you already have a channel, you can verify fit by checking that it has a 3" inside width, 5/8" diameter mounting holes, and 2" center-to-center hole spacing....
