Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the DeeMaxx Hydraulic Brake Line

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this DeeMaxx five foot long, one eighths inch diameter hydraulic brake hose with the brass three 16ths of an inch male inverted flares. Now, this brake line will connect your hydraulic brake actuator to your trailer brakes when it's used with additional lines and fittings, which we do sell separately on our website. This is a nice, flexible design, so it makes the hose perfect for use with fold away trailer tongues, disc brakes, and even torsion axles. Again, we mentioned on each end, they have the brass male three 16ths of an inch inverted flare fittings.

The brass construction on these fittings is softer, helps provide a better seal than the steel fittings. And the rubber hose will meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, and then the SAE Standards. Hose length, again, total on this one is 60 inches. Inner diameter is an eighth of an inch. And again, as we mentioned, on each end is the three 16ths of an inch inverted brass flare fittings.

But that should do it for the review on the DeeMaxx five foot long, one eighth inch diameter hydraulic brake hose with the brass male inverted flare fittings.

Awesome I finally found some flexible brake lines for my truck. I'm definitely going to be ordering more from y'all. I have a 2001 Toyota tundra and your brake lines have helped me tremendously because before my truck was busting the metal break lines over and over.

Do not order this product. The standard fittings for 3/16 flared brake lines have 3/8"-24 threads. This has something else. I'm not sure what the threads are, maybe they're some metric thread that someone through would be close enough, maybe they were made with really poor quality Chinese dies, whatever the story, the end fittings would not thread into 3/8"-24 fittings, they would start and turn a few threads then jam. Yes, I'm sure it was the firings on the hose which were the problem. I tried multiple fittings from multiple sources which all worked together nicely. I even checked with some good quality US made 3/8" 24 taps and dies The fittings on this hose were the one's which were the wrong size. Also, the flares on both ends of the hose were damaged.

The DeeMaxx kit worked well after trying to figure out the brake lines and where they should run. Installing the disks was slow at first as I wanted to make sure I was doing it right the first time. Bleeding the calipers was most effective having my wife in the truck, brakes on, brakes off. The test run was a challenge as we live in the mountains and there is very little level ground, not even the Walmart parking lot. The truck and 5th wheel combo stopped quicker than I have ever experience in the 28K miles we have traveled since 2020.

These are well constructed, but the flare nuts are of a different size than the other hoses with same specification, I had to use a 10mm wrench on these flare nuts, and they were very tight going into my "T" connectors
