Flexible Rubber Brake Hose

This Kodiak brake hose is made of rubber, making it a practical choice for a variety of applications. Because you can easily bend it, a rubber hose is simpler to work with than a rigid stainless steel brake line. This flexibility makes a rubber hose great for use with foldaway trailer tongues because it is less likely to kink or break when bent. In addition, rubber hoses allow for a wide range of motion so articulating parts can effectively function. These qualities make rubber hoses better suited than steel lines for trailers with torsion axle suspension systems and trailers that have disc brakes.

Stainless steel brake lines have braided exteriors, which can not only wear against exterior surfaces, but also against the interior lining of the hose if dirt gets underneath the steel braid. And if the braid on a stainless steel line tears, it can cut into the hose lining. The exterior surface of this hose is solid rubber, so there are no crevices for debris to enter.

Durable Fittings with Deep Threads

Kodiak Hose Flare

Kodiak brake hoses have corrosion-resistant brass fittings with stainless steel flares. These fittings have a gap built into them that allows room for a line wrench - also called a flare nut wrench - to slide over the line and down to the nut. This type of wrench grips the nut better than a standard open-ended wrench so there is less chance of stripping the threads as you tighten down the nut.

The stainless steel that is used to create the flares on this hose is stronger than brass. As a result, these fittings are more durable than ones made entirely of brass. The stainless flares are primarily designed to keep the fittings from splitting when you tighten them down, but they offer absolute rust protection as well.

Kodiak's fittings have deeper threads than many other fittings on the market to provide a higher thread engagement. Deeper threads offer an advantage when used with fittings that have the same thread depth. These Kodiak fittings will work with most fittings on the market, but when they're used with other Kodiak fittings, the result is a stronger connection with fewer leaks.

As stated part of my brake overhaul. line was a bit longer than needed but the size under was to short. made it work, easy install. added mesh sheathing for additional protection from rodents and road debris

Very helpful getting correct parts for my trailer and prompt delivery. Super nice people, very informative and helpful.

the parts are well made, the kit well organized.
breaks perform smooth and responsively

The brake hoses I ordered arrived ahead of schedule. Quality is excellent, fit is perfect. So great to have brakes working on my boat trailer again.

Still working as expected.

Recently ordered a Kodiak Hyd. Brake Hose x 6 ft. long for my boat trailer that has surge brakes. The order was taken, confirmed, and delivered quickly. eTrailer provided status updates on my order during the short process. I received the hose and it is exactly what I ordered. Thanks!

Very useful flexible brake hose. It was part of large order of brake parts to renovate a newly purchase, yet very old trailer with gutted/stripped surge brakes. I think it is typically used for a swing-away tongue, but I just needed an extension due to an unusually long tongue.

This is a much better hose than the original equipment on my boat trailer. It arrived quickly from etrailer and was what I expected. The video was very helpful on bleeding the brake lines with a surge trailer brake system

This brake hose appears to be top quality. The size was correct and the end fittings made for an easy install. Would recommend buying for any boat trailer. Thanks Etrailer for your fast shipping and good price.

Excellent support from Nicole in helping me confirm availability of all my material needs for my boat trailer brake upgrade from Drum to Disk. Have not actually done the install but parts arrived a day early and look to be high quality. Thanks Nicole!!

I replaced a steel brake line with this and it worked great!
Also a Great Website with informative Videos as well!

Product was shipped quickly and was exactly as advertised. Appears to be top quality. Brake hoses don't make for exciting pictures, so I didn't take any. Titus was very helpful.

Exactly as described and exactly what we needed. Thank you!

Product arrived ahead of schedule. It was a brake line for my Zieman Pontoon Boat Trailer. Fit perfectly.

Installation was easy and length was just right. Bled the system and brake installation was complete great replacement product.

  • Flexible Brake Line for an Extending Tongue Boat Trailer
I do have a flexible brake like that can reach the end of your trailer tongue while extended with the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose part # BH-3MFS-6 but it will not extend and retract with your trailers tongue. Unfortunately, they don't really make anything for your application to my knowledge therefore, your best option would be to use the fixed length flexible brake line and tie off the excess while not in use.

  • Availability of a Hydraulic Brake Hose to Install on a Folding Trailer Tongue
We carry many different sizes hydraulic brake hoses that can work in replacing your steel brake line on your trailer's surge coupler. I think the Kodiak 6 foot hose with 3/16 of an inch male flare fittings, # BH-3MFS-6, will be the best solution. This hose could attached to the master cylinder, if the fitting is 3/16, and then run the hose along trailer tongue until you can connect the other end to your brake line. You will have to cut the steel line and install a inverted flare nut...

  • Availability of 24 Foot Long Brake Line and 6 Foot Long Brake Line Sections
The longest hard brake line we have is 19 feet like the part # T4336000 which does have 3/16 inch sized fittings. In flexible brake line we have the part # BH-3MFS-24 which is 24 feet but does have correct fitting size. At 6 foot length we have flexible line like the part # BH-3MFS-6.

  • Is Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose BH-3MFS-6 Flexible Enough to Make 90-Degree Bend
Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose # BH-3MFS-6 is flexible enough to be installed inside a 3 x 3-inch trailer tongue and make a 90-degree bend. The metal fittings themselves naturally have no flex but the hose material is very flexible since it is designed to work with brakes on torsion axles which will require the hose to bend and flex continuously as the axle's torsion spindles move. If you check out the linked video you'll see one of our team handling the hose and how easily it bends. We also...

  • Availability of Boat Trailer Brake Line with Male Fittings
You can click on the linked page to see our brake lines and brake line kits for boat trailers. You'll first select either disc or drum brakes using the filters on the page. We offer brake lines on their own, such as the 1-foot line # BH-3MFS-1 from Kodiak that uses 2 standard male flare nut fittings or their 6-foot # BH-3MFS-6. Lengths up to 24-feet are offered, part # HS496-252 which is for tandem-axle drum brakes. We do not offer quick-disconnect type fittings.

  • Is the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose - FIF and 90-Degree Male Fittings Offered in a Longer Length
The Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose - FIF and 90-Degree Male Fittings part # bh-3mfs90-1-5 only comes in a 1.5' section. The other side you would just use the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose part # bh-3mfs-6 and join them with a tee like the Kodiak Tee Fitting for Hydraulic Brake Hose part # BH-T-3FIF. This is the same method we use here in our shops, only one 90 degree hose.

  • Flexible Brake Line For Fold Away Coupler Hinge Kit
I recommend Titan 25 inch Hydraulic Brake line part # T0980100 to use with the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge kit. The 25 inches is LIKELY long enough because the line attaches to the back of the actuator at the master cylinder and gives you enough slack to not put stress on the rest of the brake lines when the coupler is folded in. Its always better to have a little bit of slack in the brake line when installing the folding tongue for that reason. If you need a longer line, I recommend...

I do have some options for you although we don't have a way to look up specific brake lines for any one particular trailer. That said, we typically use the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose part # bh-3mfs90-1-5 to go from the brake caliper to the Kodiak Tee Fitting part # BH-T-3FIF on one side and the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose part # bh-3mfs-6 on the other so you should be able to use this same setup on your trailer as well.
