Today we're going to review part number YR80000. This is the Yates Keel Roller. This will replace one of your keel rollers on your boat trailer. This is constructed of a heavy-duty rubber material. This keel roller will ease the loading and unloading of you boat. It will support the bottom of the boat as it sits on the trailer and it will help absorb the road shock while the boat is being towed.

We're going to do a few dimensions on this. The width is 7 3/4. The diameter is 3 3/8. And this keel roller is designed to fit on an 8-inch wide bracket with a 5/8-inch diameter shank. And that should do it for part number YR80000.

Replaced 6 deteriorated, split, center keel rollers on a twin axle Shorelander boat trailer. The keel rollers were easy to install once the center roller support assembly was removed. I have purchased many new parts for an old trailer I am trying to save. Very satisfied
with the quality and service. Two things I would recommend is to show the size of the seals needed for each axel. It may be on your site somewhere and I missed it. Also the axel u-bolt length seems to be related to the number of leafs in the springs. My

springs have 4 leafs so I had to find them at a local shop. You may want to increase your variety of u-bolt sizes. Thanks

Great service, I ordered a product with 3 day shipping. Ordered on Saturday late came early Wednesday free shipping. Parts look right but have to remove boat from trailer to see if parts are correct. If they are will be 100 percent happy. Cost of parts were the best price around. Oh bought comple set of new rollers for my tracker boat.

In order to choose the correct replacement keel roller for a boat trailer you'll need to know both the length and shaft diameter. The Yates Rubber # YR8000 keel roller has a 3-3/8 inch diameter at the ends, a 2-1/4 inch diameter at the flat spot in the center and is 7-3/4 inches long. The roller would use a 5/8 inch diameter shaft such as part # CE10725A and would mount using panel brackets like # CE10303G that would attach to the trailer crossmembers. Differences Between Models of Yates Keel Rollers, # 8000 and # 8244
I spoke with my contact at Yates and he said Yates 8-Inch Heavy Duty Keel Roller, part # YR8000, and the super-heavy-duty model, part # YR8244-105EC will have the same load capacity of 400 lbs. The keel rollers on a boat trailer are for positioning the boat on the trailer and do not have to carry much, if any weight of the boat. Really the only difference is the diameter of the rollers. Comparing 8" Long Yates Keel Rollers for Boat Trailer
The difference between the Yates Keel Roller for Boat Trailers # YR8244-105EC and # YR8000 is that the former has the middle spacing at about 5/8" while the latter has an increased middle spacing of about 1". I have attached photos of each for you to check out. You just need to make sure that your pin has a 5/8" diameter like part # CE10725A and you can use either one as a replacement.

Which Side of Crossbeam Do Keel Rollers Install
That's going to depend on the trailer setup. I attached a picture that shows them mounted on the side of the trailer closest to the coupler but if your trailer setup needs it on the other side that would work as well.

V-Keel Roller With Highest Weight Capacity
For a V-Keel Roller, like you have referenced, the highest weight capacity is the Yates # YR8000 8-inch roller with a capacity of 400 pounds. 7-3/8 and 11-3/8 Inch Keel Rollers for a Caulkins Boat Trailer
There are some common size rollers found on boat trailers but really they can be just about any size. Roller # YR8000 has an overall length of 7-3/4 inches so it would fit in the 7-7/8 inch spacing. It fits on a 5/8 inch diameter shaft # CE10725A. Roller # YR12000 is actually 11-3/4 inches long and so it would fit the 11-7/8 spacing of your brackets. We do have one 5 inch keel roller available that features a 1/2 inch inner diameter. This is with the Yates V Keel Roller # YR5213-4P. This is a heavy-duty rubber, V-shaped keel roller that will work with a 5 inch bracket and 1/2 inch diameter shaft. The best option we have for what you are looking for is the Yates V Keel Roller for Boat Trailers part # YR5213-4P which is 5" long with a 1/2" diameter shaft. Is There a Keel Roller That'll Work With 2" Boat To Frame Clearance?
I have a possible option for you, but we do not have something that's going to work with 2" of clearance out of the box. You're going to need to pick up a keel roller such as the Yates # YR8000 and have a local fabrication shop make you a mount to work with the 2" clearance you have.
