Specs:
Bolster brackets are typically mounted upright on a boat trailer's crossmembers. When used with a swivel bracket (sold separately), they allow a mounted bunk board, which is run from the front of the trailer to the back, to pivot while you are loading a boat. On kayak trailers, these brackets are mounted to the trailer's frame and support bunk boards that run across the trailer.
Galvanized Steel
Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at the CE Smith galvanized steel double U-bolt bolster bracket. Now bolster brackets are typically mounted upright on a boat's trailer's cross members. When used with a swivel bracket, they allow a mounted bunk board, which is run from the front of the trailer to the back, to pivot while you are loading a boat. On kayak trailers, these brackets are mounted to the trailer's frame and support bunk boards that run across the trailer. This rust-resistant bolster bracket attaches to your boat's trailer frame using two U-bolts to ensure a sturdy connection to your trailer frame to support your bunk board. Two brackets are required per bunk board and the mounting slots permit as much as 3 inches of height adjustment during installation.
And this is made in the USA of seven-gauge galvanized steel that will resist rust and corrosion. Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 millimeters to 5 millimeters thick, and this thick all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding, so this is gonna be suitable for salt water exposure. So you are going to get one bracket. Let me pull out my ruler here just to give you some overall measurements.
The overall length, we are gonna be sitting right at 11 3/4 inches tall, and I should have said the overall height instead of the overall length, so 11 3/4 inches tall. Looking at the width, we are sitting right at 4 inches wide. And on these mounting slots, I mentioned that you have 3 inches of adjustability. So let me confirm that here with you. So as you can see, we're sitting at 3 inches and that's gonna be the case for all of those mounting slots, and they are 1/2 an inch wide.
Let me move my fingers so you can see, 1/2 an inch wide. And then the horizontal spacing between these slots, in between each one, we're sitting right at about an inch and 1/4 in between those slots. And then looking at the vertical spacing, it looks like we're sitting right at 1/2 an inch between those slots and then the swivel bracket mounting hole diameter is gonna be 1/2 an inch. Now, please check out our website here at etrailer.com if you need U-bolts, swivel brackets, or bunk boards. We have a variety of choices on each of those items.
So if you are in need of any of those other additional items please check out our website. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me..
Best damn people ever...... really smart too
Just what I need. Better and Heavier than I expected. These will work a lot better. Thanks
Beefy and strong! Just what I needed.
There was a bit of a delay in receiving these because of a back order issue, the wait was well worth it. These bolster brackets are 1/4" galvanized steel and I'm convinced they could support a Sherman Tank. If you want to do it right, I would highly recommend this product - including the bunk brackets.
Heavy duty. Just as described.
Parts received appear to be of good quality and built heavy duty
could not find this product locally , etrailer had the item in stock at a great price .
The brackets were nice and heavy with good galvanize, I am satisfied with them.
Exactly what I needed to rebuild my boat trailer
Great Customer Service. Quality products that always meet my expectations.
Thank You!
I needed these to support my boat lift frame on my boathouse. They are much heavier than I thought they would be, so I'm sure they will work fine. Even got a quick delivery time considering all the delays due to the Corona virus.
very good quality; heavy built. i was concerned when i ordered these if they would be as heavy duty as the old ones i was replacing; i wasn't dissapointed.... thanks
The 8 3/4 " galvinized U-bolt bracket was the only size that would fit in the position on the trailer. I could not find this size any where locally. E trailer solved the prolbem and saved me time looking around.
Perfect as always
I had to modify our boat lift for a new, larger boat. This required raising the front of the bunks and moving them farther apart.
The previous brackets tended to angle outward due to the dead rise in the bow. Pictures show how I added a welded support to prevent this. So I ordered these double U bolt supports to prevent this problem. They work great. And I lucked out. I thought I'd have to shorten these brackets, but they gave me the exact height, and even rest on the lift's structure for better support.
Work great replaced rusted ones on my trailer. Added zinc anodes to the new ones and I am still rust free.
