A lot of hard covers limit how much of your bed you can actually use. The BAKFlip G2 fixes that with a true quad-fold setup that opens fully without having to remove it. Each panel folds back smoothly and can be locked upright with built-in prop rods so you can haul tall gear or hook up a fifth-wheel hitch without losing the cover. You can also strap it down in the folded position if you want to keep your rear window clear.
Security matters when you’re carrying tools or camping gear. Every panel on the BAKFlip G2 automatically latches when closed, and once the tailgate is locked, the bed is sealed shut. The release cords are easy to reach from inside the tailgate, so one person can open or close it in seconds. The solid aluminum build prevents prying or cutting, giving real peace of mind when you park.
Each panel is made from 1/2-inch thick, rustproof aluminum with an insulated core for added strength. The cover supports up to 300 lb of evenly distributed weight, so it’s sturdy enough to stand or sit on when needed. A textured black finish resists corrosion and UV damage, while aircraft-grade rails with a powder coat finish keep the frame strong through years of use.
The low-profile design sits inside the bed rails for a clean, flush look that still works with stake-pocket accessories and ladder racks that mount above the rails. Matte black rubber seals run along the edges to block out rain and dust, and any water that gets in is directed away through built-in drain tubes behind the cab—keeping your cargo dry through heavy weather or car washes.
Installing the G2 is straightforward and doesn’t require drilling. The aluminum frame rails clamp securely to the inside of the bed rails, and front hinge bolts adjust for a snug fit. A wrench is all that’s needed to get it mounted and aligned, making setup quick while keeping your truck bed intact for future accessories.

After using it for a while Im extremely happy with this cover. It has been a game changer, making my 2008 Ford Ranger bed far more useable and convenient for carrying a variety of items. One of the best purchases Ive ever made for it.

Hi Mardy. I have heard this to be a difficult install and the latches to be stiff (though adjusting them helps), but noisy, flimsy, and poor quality are firsts for a BAK product like this. What kind of noise are you getting? Is something maybe not tightened down all the way causing part to stick up? And, what part are you finding flimsy or poor quality?

Actually its closer to two years and I could not be more pleased. I have done a few rainy road trips and the one thing that worried me was if it would keep the contents dry and it did. Al else about the cover has been good too. Good product and it fit like a glove.
