When roads turn slick with snow or ice, these ISSE Classic Snow Socks give your tires the grip they need. The thick polyolefin fabric captures the thin layer of water that normally causes slipping, turning it into dry friction that pulls you forward. The snow itself clings to the wet surface of the socks, creating even more bite between the tire and ground. It’s a simple design that works incredibly well for getting up snowy driveways or driving through mountain passes.
Unlike metal chains that clatter and shake, these snow socks deliver a quiet, even ride. Their low-profile design produces no vibration or noise, so you can concentrate on the road instead of the rattle from your tires. They’re also Class S compatible, making them a great choice for vehicles with limited space around the tires.
When the weather turns fast, you don’t want to fight bulky chains. The lightweight, stretchable fabric of these socks slips over the tire easily and centers itself as you begin to drive. Elastic bands keep everything in place, and when it’s time to remove them, they come off just as smoothly. You can wash them in your machine and store them in the included tote bag for the next storm.
The soft polyolefin material won’t scratch or damage your rims, making it ideal if you run custom wheels or tight clearances. Even though they’re fabric, they’re tough—designed to handle repeated use on snow and ice without tearing. They meet Department of Transportation requirements in all states, giving you dependable performance every winter.
Perfect for keeping in your trunk as a backup, this pair of ISSE Classic Snow Socks is made for those unpredictable snow days when traction quickly disappears. Rated for speeds up to 30 mph and compatible with ABS and electronic stability systems, they’re a smart, space-saving solution that keeps you moving when the roads turn white.

Shipping arrived exactly when predicted.
I have not used the product yet, but they look exactly as represented on the website. Small enough to keep in the trunk storage compartment through the winter. Etrailer had them shipped and delivered within 3 days. Always great service!
I ordered these just to have on hand as we prepare for a winter trip to the southwest. I can't really testify as to how they work because I have yet to use them but etrailer is once again a pleasure to work with.
This review is for the basic ordering of the product. We haven't needed to use the snow socks yet so can't comment on the product. We were able to order and receive the items with ease and in a timely fashion. We received what we ordered. YAY
First, these are for a trip in January, so I have not used them yet, but what I can say at this point is that I'm very happy to have found something that will work on my Forester which has no clearance for chains or most cables. The Forester is great for snow, but nothing is great on black ice, so these will provide some added safety if needed. Etrailer's excellent online guidance led me to these. Thank you.
Snow socks arrived in great condition. Actually hoping I don't have to use them, but nice to know I've got them in the event of a "snow or ice weather event"! Great service, product, and shipping.
While I have not yet utilized the tire socks, the biggest reason to have them is simply to be compliant with the law where chains must be carried. For that purpose the product is perfect! Super light weight and far less of a hassle than dealing with steel cables or chains.
Wow. I was hoping these would work as reviewed and they did! Living on a hill, these socks saved me from sliding all the way home. My tires lost traction on a snowy hill; I pulled over and relatively quickly (and easily!) slipped the snow covers over my tires. Once on, I completed my drive down the snow covered road in control. My husband's going to get a pair (he was impressed how well they worked) and I plan to get these for my adult children. Well worth the cost and peace of mind knowing I have these in my car.
I would like to say great but I have not needed them. Ran into snow several times last yr but my XC90 just plowed thru without a problem. I have a friend who used them last yr - took about 5 min to put them on and we had good traction in icy hardpack. I still keep them in the car just in case. Would not be without them.
Does not fit over the tire even though our tire size is listed.
Purchased for the safety of traveling through mountains out west. Have to have it in slippery conditions or state patrol won’t let you proceed. Light to pack, easy stowage, relatively easy to install, but unlike chains is tough fabric. Unsure how effective they work as we did not have need to use. More of insurance to have than not.
Not impressed with this product at all. If you are driving on snow, meaning absolutely no pavement or rough surface, they may be useful... but a short distance after the chain requirement point mine were shredded and all but useless.
Watch the sizing folks. The web site said to get size 74 for our 225/60/18 tires but when they arrived, the size chart on the package said size 70 was needed. I hope this was fixed on the web site. etrailer was very good about understanding the problem and returning the original package, sending me a pre-paid return label for the UPS guy. I ordered the new ones after they received the originals and credited my account. Easily a five star rating if it were not for the step of returning and reordering.
We bought tire socks for our Subaru because the owners manual says NOT to use chains. But, when snowing in the mountains of Oregon, chains are sometimes required. We'll probably be fine without, being all wheel drive, but the police don't think so. There are hefty fines for driving without at least having chains in your possession.
Terrible decision to get these. They were supposed to fit on my tires (based on the specs). When I needed them in a bad snowstorm, I could not go more than 20 MPH. They would slide off one side or the other. I was blocking traffic trying to get them to stay on. Had to nurse the car without these or chains to an auto shop and buy a set of cables that fit. Had to go over the I-80 Donner Summit from Truckee and would not have made it with these "snow socks". I would be happy to sell these once used socks for half of what I paid for them.
Living in Arizona we don't have a lot of use for these when we do need them it is critical that they can go on easily and work. This is one of the few places I could send my tire size and have the unit match pacifically for my tires which gives me peace of mind knowing that when I do have to use them they will fit.
Really great price and fast delivery.
I live in Dallas, TX so we don’t get snow but ice and sleet and available a couple times a year. I put these on my Subaru Outback and was able to drive around the local neighborhood streets that were iced over. Stopping went well a and starting did not have any wheel spin.
These things are great. So easy to put on & take off, gave me great traction going up & down steep snowy hill with small car & ordinary tires.
Keeping these in my trunk for emergencies - good insurance policy.
Great customer service and answered my questions within 5 minutes and then clarified further questions quickly. I was unaware of this product and it saved me having to get snow tires for a one time trip
I haven't had a chance to use the product, but I did test the fit and they certainly install easy enough. I occasionally have to drive from the coast over the mountains to into the valley and during the winter we are required by law to carry chains or something similar on 2-wheel drive vehicles...and the storms can come seemingly out of nowhere in the high elevations...so now I am prepared. The construction of these is very good.
Not to mention, the customer service from etrailer was very good. Initially there was a slight problem with the delivery date, but they managed to rectify that without any problems. Thank you.
Took over a year for a sufficiently snowy day to come, but these tire socks were quite straightforward to install. Didn't notice excessive slipping around while driving.

Only had to use these once last year and they worked great. Relatively easy to get on, even with the car stuck in the snow.
