Is the installation the same for a 2018 MDX Advance Tech ad in the videos? Just double checking.

Yes, installation of the Curt trailer wiring harness # C56192 will be essentially identical on your 2018 Acura MDX as it is in the video for the 2016, linked for reference. That same goes for the Tekonsha wiring harness # 118628 which also fits your MDX.
Please note that with either harness it may be necessary to see a local Acura dealer for a relay. The relay is needed to activate the tow package wiring circuit.
