Wiring a trailer can be a hassle when you have to cut into the factory setup, but this harness makes it simple. The Curt T-Connector plugs right into the existing tail light wiring to create a clean 4-pole flat connection. No splicing or wire tracing—just plug it in and it’s ready to go.
This harness tucks neatly behind panels and uses factory connection points, keeping everything out of sight once installed. The hidden design gives a clean, finished look with no exposed wires hanging near the hitch.
The 4-flat connector provides the standard functions—running lights, turn signals, and brake lights—so your trailer lights work exactly as they should. It’s ready for small utility trailers, campers, or boat trailers that use basic lighting setups.
Not every vehicle comes with tow wiring, but this harness includes a built-in converter that makes it work even if the vehicle has no tow package. It draws power where needed and ensures proper signal transfer to the trailer lights.

Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information.
Today we're gonna be taking a look at the current T-connector vehicle wire and harness of the four-pole flat trailer connector. This product fits certain years and models of the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Rio, and Hyundai Elantra. To ensure that this is a fit for your vehicle, you could always use the vehicle fit guide located at etrailer.com. It's gonna provide a four-way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with five-pole, six-pole, and seven-pole adapters. Adapters are sold separately. It's gonna come with a dust cap for the four-way flat connector. That way you can cover up the connection points when your plug's not being used. The black box is the included tail light converter. This is gonna ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailers.
It's constructed using surface mount technology, which is gonna offer consistent, reliable performance. What that does is it maximizes the trailer light yield in intensity while producing minimal heat, and it ensures superior operation in rough road conditions. The unit is designed to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires. Just locate the connection points in your rear cargo area and plug in your T-connectors. These connectors are custom-fit for your vehicle, so they're gonna match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle, and they're gonna snap lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Once you have those connected, you'll then make your ground connection.
The ground wire's the white wire, has a ring terminal already attached to it. You'll want to get that connected to a suitable grounding location with the included grounding screw. Then you'll need to mount the converter box to a safe, out-of-the-way location. You can do that using the double-sided adhesive tape provided with the kit. Once your install's complete, you can go ahead and secure any excess or slack in the wiring with the included cable ties, and then the four-way connectors are gonna be stowed within the storage compartment of your cargo area. Plenty of wiring there. That way you can pull it out the back of the vehicle when you need to use it; roll it up and tuck it away when you don't need to use it. It is recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four-fold connector itself.
That grease is specifically designed to help prevent corrosion. It is sold separately and available at etrailer.com. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at three amps per circuit. For the tail lights, we're looking at five amps per circuit. That's gonna do it for today's look at the current T-connector vehicle wiring harness with the four-pole flat trailer connector.

What can I say it's a wiring harness it's exactly as described it got here in a timely manner the packaging was intact and I would recommend this company to my friends and family
I tried wiring it old school way. Not happening. Looked to see what son had ordered and discovered why I was not getting any thing to work. Ordered harness received it in a couple days and had it on and working in less than 15 min great product.
Product fit as described, perfect! Install was simple, easy! Would recommend to anyone, Etrailer.com saved the day, and some cash too! Half the cost of others for the same product!
first time buyer. was very satisfied with the wiring harness i purchased and the speed at which it was delivered. would not hesitate to do business again!
I'm a licensed engineer who got through school working as a licensed mechanic, so I'm usually critical of aftermarket stuff that claims to be "OEM compatible" or "custom fit". I was pleasantly surprised. The wiring harness fit exactly and installed in less than an hour, could have done it quicker if I had any experience with Hyundai. Everything did in fact install without splicing. The only tools needed were to remove the internal plastic panels. All parts were high quality and the finished product did in fact look factory installed. I would highly recommend this product.
The connector was very easy to install with the proper tools. It took me less than 45 minutes and works perfectly. I recommend the installation video that was accessed through a link on the web page. So far, I have ordered 3 items from etrailer.com and all three more than lived up the advertising. Can't beat the price and the items arrived in very timely manners. I will be back!
This the second item I have purchased from etrailer this month. My trailer wire harness was a snap to install and worked perfect the first time tried without any issued. Etrailer videos are a great resource for helping install you item whatever it is.
First time etrailer purchaser. I purchased a Curt T-connector Harness - 4-flat specific to my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. The online attention to the order was fantastic. I knew what was going on through-out the process. Product was easy to locate, shipped quickly, arrived and installed quickly as described. And YES it worked as intended!!
Very Happy with the process and I will recommend and be back.

The eTrailer installation videos for my trailer hitch and wiring were very helpful. They made the DIY process stress free.
Curt needs to go back to the drawing board on this one, or fix their horrible quality control. I ordered this to replace a 7 year old product of another brand that served me well, but failed recently. My vehicle is a 2007 Kia Rio 5 Hatchback. When I installed the Curt Harness, I lost my back-up lights on the car itself, then when I hooked up my trailer to it, the only lights that would work were the taillights. When checked the 4-pole connector on th Curt harness sure enough, only the taillight pin had power. Upon close examination of the 6-pin connectors on the Curt harness I noticed all 4 of the connectors had only 5 male or female pins installed and of course no jumper wires at that location. My Kia connectors had wires thru all 6 circuits. With a factory wiring diagram and a test probe, I determined that the 6th circuit was being used as a ground connection for the back-up/turn/& stop light circuits and is indeed necessary. Either Curt forgot to install the pins and jumpers during manufacture or worse, their design is flawed !!!
