Video Transcript for All About the Replacement Wiring Harness for Boss Snow Plow

Today we're taking a look at the replacement harness repair kit for snow plows. This replaces the harness for Boss snowplows. It replaces Boss part number MSC04754. This is a 13 pin male connector. Again, it is a replacement part, so it's a direct replacement for again, MSC04754 from Boss. This is designed for the plow side.

It has multiple wires on it. So a couple of things I want to point out, you'll notice that it has like a mesh material that bundles and keeps the wires together and then it has this heat shrink tubing that can be placed over all the connection points. Place a heat gun or a heat source on that, it will shrink it down. It'll seal around all the connection points that's going to keep dirt and grime away from all the terminals are all the connections. All the wires do come with butt connectors pre-installed. So that's going to allow for easy connecting when it comes to feeding the mating wires in here, crimping it down.

And then also these butt connectors can be shrunk as well with the heat gun or a heat source. Product's made in the USA.That's gonna do it for today's look at the replacement harness repair kit for Boss snowplows. Again, this replaces Boss part number MSC04754.

$30 less than buying it local. Installed in less than 20 minutes. Three wires had colors that didn't match but I was able to figure it out with trial and error. Plow works great now.

Just a follow up, no corrosion on any pins and the outer wire harness has no discoloration from UV exposure.

Great product once again, except this time I was able to fix my Boss Plow Issue Myself with their great product at a reasonable price delivered to my door in just a couple days. My 1 st product was on a different vehicle and installed by an automotive tech and even he commented on how great a product it was for the money. So Thank You Again etrailer !

I had an old Blizzard Plow that was getting pretty beat up after 18 years. I could not find an OEM control harness for it. Due to repeated use, corrosion, and disconnecting my plugs were shot. Nothing worse than getting half way through a plow job and having the plow stop working. I saw these on your site and figured I could make it work. The Blizzard connector was a 13 wire which also include the main power and ground but I was able to convert the unit to the BOSS style RT setup. As has always been the case your products really worked well!

I have had no issues of any type with my plow wiring harness after a year of use. We had a 24 plus storm last week and my plow worked like a champ!

So if anyone runs a Boss plow with a 13 pin harness you know that 13th pin sitting all by itself is the weak link to the harness assembly. Over the last 3 winters it’s become loose and I would intermittently loose power to the plow. Another issue with the 13th pin becoming loose is the very rigid rubber used on the factory Boss male and female harness covers. When you connect them ( especially when new) it would always seem to bend that pin and you’d have to straighten it back to line up with the female holes. Knowing this(there’s a online video on it) ahead of time I ordered this plow side harness just in case. It finally gave up the ghost the other day plowing and I changed it out in the field. Really easy to change, all 13 wires are color coded and come with crimp connections already in place. Cut the harness, peal back the sheath and wire it up. The rubber on the replacement harness is much softer and eliminates the torquing on the pins. Fit flat and flush first time. If you plow for a living and own a Boss just get it cause it’s only a matter of time. Great service and prompt delivery from etrailer as well.

I bought both the plow side and truck side plugs to replace the OEM BOSS plug that were not in good shape after already replacing the OEM BOSS plugs once before. took about an hour to splice correctly and weather proof them. these have stood up to a season of connecting and disconnecting multiple times and they stood up to the salt very well. I would say these plugs are better then the OEM BOSS plug that come in the plow

by:

This thing was exactly what we needed and still works great a year later - Thanks!

by:

Another perfect transaction with a great company. Just what I needed and fast delivery. You can't go wrong if you order from Etrailer. Thanks again

by:

got it quick...

by:

This plug saved the day, as you know, the boss original plugs are known for breaking pins. This was very easy to install. A few of the colors didn’t match up exactly, but it was easy to match up by process of elimination. Still going strong one year later.

by:

This plug harness replaced the OEM plug that failed on my two year old Boss plow . The rubber on the Boss plow male plug side is much softer allowing for the pins to float around/bend side to side making it hard to plug in the female connector and finally one pin just broke off . The new plug has a much stiffer plastic molded around the pins and are much sturdier with no connection problems . I had no problems with wiring it in . All wire color assignments were correct and they supplied the connectors and shrink wrap tubing .
I would purchase it again .

by:

Exactly what we needed for our tech. Quick, easy and was burning gas again quicker than the quoted time frame.

by:

The part does not work at all as it will not plug into the plow harness on the truck. It is not the fault of the truck harness as the other plow plugs that I have work fine. It seems that the pins on the plug that was sent to me are a bit too big to work.

  • Replacement 11-Pin Wire Harness Repair Kit for a Fisher 7.5 Snow Plow
I do have an option for you but we do not offer the particular plug you are looking for nor am I aware of where it could be obtained. However, you can just use the Replacement Harness Repair Kit part # 3371304744 for the male side and the Replacement Harness Repair Kit part # 3371304745 for the female side. The extra pins could then just be left unhooked but this would work well as a replacement.
