Heavy gear in the back can make your ride sag and throw off steering, traction, and braking. These SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs add up to 1,800 lbs of support at 50-percent compression so your ride stays level and stable when towing or hauling. They help your factory suspension handle the extra weight, keeping your vehicle balanced and your handling predictable even under load.
Rough roads and uneven loads don’t need to mean a rough ride. The microcellular urethane material cushions bumps and shocks while reacting progressively to weight. With lighter loads, the springs compress easily for a softer feel; with heavier loads, they compress by as much as 80 percent to stay firm and supportive. That progressive rate keeps your ride comfortable whether you’re running light or fully loaded.

When a curve or crosswind pushes your vehicle around, these helper springs work independently on each side to keep things steady. They balance off-center loads and reduce body roll during sharp turns so your vehicle feels planted through corners and uneven terrain. The result is steadier handling and a more controlled drive when towing or carrying heavy gear.
These one-piece springs are made from tough microcellular urethane that resists oil, salt, abrasion, and UV damage. They perform in temperatures from -25°F to 200°F without cracking or deforming. Since they don’t rely on air pressure or tubing, there’s nothing to leak or maintain—just reliable suspension support every trip.
Getting better load support doesn’t have to be complicated. These custom helper springs bolt up easily with no drilling required. Once installed, they’re always ready to go—no compressors, airlines, or adjustments needed—so you can spend less time setting up and more time driving with a level, stable ride.

Working out Great!! Love them.
2019 Lexus GX 460 Install these onto the vehicle the ride is completely smoother It made a huge difference definitely recommended Thank you etrailer.com
These have helped out with the handling and avoided the harsh bottom outs. I frequently tow and these have helped provide a smoother ride and avoid the “hard” hit associated when going over bigger bumps etc.

Solid performance from the SumoSprings! Greatly assist when towing and keeping from having too much sag and a harsh ride. Perform great off-road and allows bumps and hits to soak up nicely without a hard noticeable hit.
Easy to install.Did not have to remove the tires on my 2022 Toyota 4runner. Make sure you turn the plate and spring the right way.

I pull a 19 foot ranger boat behind my 4runner and your Sumo Springs allow my 4runner to stay level and to handle safely. A must buy!
Ride became too hard after installation on my 2018 4Runner. Instead I installed air bags that I deflate and brings back the original ride.
I'm 74 and had no problems installing the SumoSprings - with the right tools. The JF has not been lifted and I was still able to install the springs without removing the tire or jacking up the car. The parts fit perfect, and it took me about an hour using the right tools. I will not know how they work, pulling a offroad trailer / camper off-road because I do not go on road trips during the summer. I like the cold, so my trips are between November and April, depending on the weather. I'm sure that the backend will not drop like it's been doing with the new springs.
Quality product. Installation was smooth and easy with no issues. Over 10k miles on them towing a small tear drop trailer and they've aided the rear suspension significantly. No more droppy rear. Folks at etrailer are always available and happy to assist. A bookmarked retailer for sure!
First time using them I was towing a 2500 pound trailer and the SumoSpring split in half. I requested a refund but they wouldn’t refund my money. They did send me a replacement pair. Which I was not confident in using the product after the failed spring so I sold them on marketplace. Don’t trust the product!
After a year of use, these helper springs do all they were advertised to do. I maintain my OEM ride when lightly loaded, but also have the stability when loaded and pulling a trailer. One thing to be aware of, recently I was carrying a moderate load and riding on a very rough road. The ride was much firmer (and rough) than the OEM ride. This should be expected as the springs were doing what they were designed to do.
I mounted them on my ‘07 Sequioa limited with air springs. They fit very well and work well as an additional overload spring. If the airbags lose air which happens when it’s very cold, it’ll sit on these sumosprings much better than the original bump stops which caused my bigger tires to rub. I’m very pleased with these.
Fit and finish excellent. Corrected the sagging from towing a 20 foot travel trailer. Installation videos made install very easy. This is my fourth vehicle to use sumo springs on each purchase worked excellent.
I installed the black Sumo Springs on a 2019 Toyota 4Runner. The fit was easy. Passenger side could be done without jacking the vehicle (although many folks on Youtube said they could not make the install and tighten). I used zip-ties to tie the brake sensor lines away from the pinch points. The Sumo springs are a great option. I tow a 3200# travel-trailer. The Sumos reduced sag at the hitch from 3-inches to one inch, and the wider contact points with the axle clearly provide more stability. I am 4000-miles into an out and back cross country camping trip. The ride while towing is tighter and gives more confidence. Glad I chose these over "air bags".

Still very happy with my Sumo Springs. Will most likely put a set on my new 2022 4Runner in the Spring. The year old set on my 2019 4Runner still reduces sag when the 3200 trailer is connected, and there is a clear improvement in tightness and perceived stability when compared to the newer stock 2022 4Runner. Good investment.

I have always used airbags in the past and this is my 1st time using SumoSprings and I can say I will never go back to airbags! I run a heavy load on a 21’ 4Runner pulling a Teardrop with two motorcycles on stock suspension
I had my mechanic install these on our 2017 Lexus GX 460, which we bought to tow our 4100lb GVWR travel trailer. He said they were "easy-peasy" to install and agreed they were a good idea to have. I noticed an immediate change in the ride of the GX, just driving around town. It stiffened up the suspension in a good way, so the truck doesn't feel as "floaty." One downside I noticed: on certain roads, when the vehicle is empty and the fuel tank is less than about half, I can actually feel the SumoSprings hitting the rear axle, since there's not enough weight for them to remain in contact. This is a rare occurrence, but something good to know if you start hearing/feeling them slapping. They were installed before we ever towed with the GX, so I'm not able to talk about any towing improvement. However, I will say that the rear end sags less than an inch when I hitch up the trailer, and the ride is fantastic. Overall, I highly recommend the SumoSprings and also had them installed on our travel trailer.
I added these to my Toyota 4Runner to help with the sagging when towing a travel trailer. They have been working great. They helped with the sagging and are basically maintenance free. I had considered adding air bags but they wear out and require adjusting. They may not provide as much lift as the air bags would but they work for my application. They do affect the ride quality some but it’s not much. They are very easy to install and I recommend them.
Easy to install on my 5th Gen 4Runner and controls the back end drop of the OEM suspension. Unladen ride is a bit stiffer as expected but with my 2500 pound camper hitched on the back it rides perfect.
