Question:
Hello, I have a 2008 4unner 4wd V6 4,600lbs, with a stated towing capacity of 5,000lbs, tongue max of 500lbs and want to buy a Trailmanor 2720QB, GVWR of 4,200, tongue of 450lbs approx. My issue is the 4runner owners manual states that I can not use a WD hitch with the weight carrying receiver, but I must use a sway controller. see pics I only see WDH on your site. Im confused about what I need and what I can tow safely. Thank you

Based on the hitch on your 2008 Toyota 4Runner, and what the owner's manual says, you will have to use electronic sway control like the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000. This uses an algorithm to activate your trailer's electric brakes to correct sway. The main unit mounts on your trailer.
Alternatively, you could install a different hitch like the Draw-Tite # 75155 which is compatible with weight distribution. Installation would require the removal of your old hitch and would allow you to use a WDH like the Fastway # FA92-00-0800. This would be the most ideal solution based on the weight of your trailer since you would get the weight distribution in addition to the sway control.
If you choose to use the electronic sway control it is likely you will want to add suspension enhancement to your 4Runner. I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SS78DR. These will help keep you level while towing your trailer. They will also help reduce sway and absorb bumps and shcoks. The SumoSprings have an 1,800 lb capacity and feature a bolt on installation.
