Heavy loads or trailers can make the rear of your vehicle sag and throw off braking and steering. Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs fit inside your existing coil springs to provide up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support. By keeping your ride level, they help maintain even tire contact, correct headlight aim, and improve braking and handling when you’re hauling or towing.
Every load is different, and with adjustable air pressure from 5 psi to 35 psi, you can fine-tune your setup for comfort or control. Add more pressure to level heavy or off-center loads, or drop back down when unloaded for a smoother ride. Each side inflates independently with manual valves so you can correct uneven weight and keep body roll in check.

By adding an air cushion inside your coil springs, these helpers soak up bumps and reduce bottoming out on rough roads. The added cushion improves traction and keeps your suspension working evenly under braking, accelerating, or cornering—even when the load shifts or the pavement gets rough.
Made from elastic polyurethane, the Coil-Rite air springs are built for years of steady service under heavy loads and tough road conditions. The kit includes air springs, hardware, air line, brackets, and separate valves for manual inflation so you have everything needed for installation.

Installation is designed to be simple—just compress the bag, slip it into place inside the existing coil spring, run your airline tubing to a convenient fill point like the bumper, and secure it with the included hardware. With clear instructions and basic tools, it’s a straightforward upgrade that adds real stability and control to your suspension.

Easy to install and improved the ride and enabled me to have a more level ride in my Pathfinder when towing a trailer
We ordered a suspension kit it came right away and at a great price. We had checked out several shops in town who said they were hard to get for our new vehicle and the cost was out of this world. Great job guys
etrailer has no business being in business. The customer is your business. And I for one, won't be doing business with your company anymore. Not a happy customer.
Excellent communication form order placement through delivery. The installation instructions are super clear as well. I’ll order again from etrailer!
Great support for suspension while pulling my boat with our pathfinder. Easy instal thanks to etrailers videos.
I've installed the air springs and and they hold up great. I'm pulling a tall 5 x 10 enclosed trailer and no more sagging in the rear end. Air up the bags to 35 max PSI and the ride quality is excellent.
Bought this for our Toyota Sienna, it helped a bit but one side leaks and has to be aired up anytime we have a full load.
I got the a draw tite hitch, wiring harness and Firestone coil helpers for my 2016 Nissan pathfinder. Everything fit great and was easy to install. The price was awesome and shipping was super fast. An easy A+ for etrailer.com.
Pleased with this product, and the customer service/follow-up I received. The kit was exactly as promised, a good fit for my vehicle. Installation of these is tricky but definitely doable. I was a bit frustrated with the delay of back-ordering, but recognize all shipping has been disrupted by the pandemic.
The product came very soon after I ordered it and is just as what is pictured. While there are no instructions in the kit - I am a capable mechanic and do not need any. It was tough getting the bags into the springs of a 2013 Pathfinder. I relaxed the suspension as best I could, but the spaces in the coils are not large. It helped to insert the bags from the middle of each spring.
The air lines are a combination of schrader valves both conventional and friction fit - take care to trim the friction fit square. I used a sharp knife. I had to fabricate a mount for the exterior valves and used a piece of 1/8 sheet aluminum. I noted the difficulty of routing the air lines away from the hot exhaust and over extension and flexion. On my vehicle the air line must extend from the bottom of the spring and this will, unfortunately increase the risk that the line will foul on a road hazard.
Spend a few moments under your vehicle and route a path for the air lines before starting the install. Overall these bags seem to be a rugged option for a suspension boost. I will add to the review as time goes on if necessary.
Worked well, but required drilling a hole to accommodate the stem, despite an indication it was compatible. One bladder then failed after about a year, due to a manufacturing defect. Firestone promptly sent a replacement, but it was a hassle to remove and re-install a new one.
These air bags definitely help with keeping the rear end higher than it would be (towing with a minivan, 300lb tongue weight), but as they are limited to 35psi, don't lift the rear as much as I would like. They are perfect for a full van by itself. Fairly easy install, only hard part is getting bags into coil spring. Air hose connections work very nicely. Used for 2 months and one 1000 mile towing trip so far.
Exactly what I needed, work great, Thank You etrailer.com!

A must have option if you tow. At the 35 psi max pressure, car stays perfectly level with a fully loaded trailer. Best investment if you need extra support without sacrificing a comfortable ride.
They keep loosing air have checked hoses quick fittings slowly seep air.

It is definitely frustrating to have the springs lose air. You may have done this already, however what I suggest is to take a spray bottle with soapy water and spray the lines along with the fittings to locate the leak. The leaking air will bubble up in that location. If it is the airline then re-cutting the line with a part like # AL10530 can help. If it is the fitting, then reinstalling it may help or might have to be replaced. We typically will carry the replacement fittings. They are covered under the warranty for two years. Please let me know which one you need, if you end up needing one.
We have a Nissan Pathfinder that is more than capable of handling the tow weight of our boat and trailer, but the suspension is definitely designed for a smooth ride over towing, so hooking up the boat left us with a definite dip in the back. These air helper springs did the trick and were so much easier and less expensive than replacing the suspension!! They made towing the 21 foot boat with trailer much easier and safer.
I put these on a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4. I pulled a 4500 pound single axel camper 30k miles with NO issues. I took it through the osceola national forest (if you know, you know) Never bottomed out and smooth as butter on the ride. I paired the inner coils with a husky weight distribution hitch. The helpers gave me about 1.5 inches off squat when at 20psi. You also do not need to run the air lines unless you just want to. I only needed to add air 1x when seasons changed. Great product.
I installed these on my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, which despite being rated to tow 5,000lbs, really struggled under the tongue weight of my boat trailer. These airbags really made a difference when towing and only when speeding over speedbumps do I notice them in normal conditions.
My only complaint is that the valve stem points down, which once hooked to the hose, sticks down nearly two inches and was routinely getting ripped off in the snow. I finally gave up the hose and just rolled under the car to increase the pressure (which I've only done once). The kit should really come with a 90* connector, but otherwise it works great.
Hi. As requested bu etrailer, this is my one-year review.
Overall, works very well. Both units are in good shape, still hold air pressure, They have been on constantly for 4 seasons including our Canadian winter, and no issue. I added some grease on it to minimize friction with coil spring.
The only thing that does not work properly is that one of the hoses, which was routed from the spring valve to the supplied inflation port installed on the bumper, does not work, does not inflate spring. I don't know what the issue is, but I have to inflate at the valve directly, which sucks to access.
Thanks
Great as always, this is my second Firestone Coil-Rite. I had one on my crown vic before and they work great, pretty straight forward install. If you’re lazy like me and didn’t want to remove the shocks then use wd40 to help slip it in between

Lazy or effective?...I think the latter! You said you had these on a crown vic. Do you still have the car? Those are my brothers favorite. He had one in Alaska while stationed there and I even went and visited him and still somehow didnt. Ride. In the Crown Victoria. One of my greatest regrets. I may or may not lose sleep over the missed opportunity...
I can only give this 3 stars because one of the bags only holds air for about 1-2 days. The other bag stays filled for months. When they are both filled it gives my Pathfinder about 1" of extra lift while towing our travel trailer. So, the trip to the campground is fine but then I have to find an air pump for the trip home or tow with it lower. If they would both stay filled I would give them a 5 star rating. I contacted etrailer support and was told that I had to contact Firestone for warranty support. I have emailed (can't find a phone number on their web site) them twice with no reply.

I was never able to get ahold of Firestone to get the one air bag replaced. I just have to fill up the one before heading home from the campground.

I received my order and installed the Air Helper Springs the next day. I had the opportunity to fully test them yesterday. They were not difficult to install and the instructions were easy to follow. I do wish there had been a video for my particular vehicle since I’m not exactly sure my routing of the air line around the exhaust the best location. Time will tell. After hooking up my trailer I adjusted the air, best I could, since all my tire gauges start at 10 lbs and go up from there. I did get the rear of the Pathfinder as level as I could. A recommendation from etrailer on a good digital or analog gauge would have also been helpful. I did pick up a digital gauge today, works great.
Thanks etrailer for a great products, instructions and your follow up email that answered my questions,

Excellent! I use it when I tow my equipment trailer and I haven’t had “any” problems. I did alter the hose configuration to a single point of air input instead of a valve for each bag. I know their reasoning but single input works better for me.
Kit had a faulty connector from air bag to air line, and would not seat and seal properly. Waiting replacement connector from Firestone. The faulty part was not listed in the Parts List on the installation sheet. The Installation sheet is common for four different products 4118, 4172, 4173, and 4197, and does not describe my installation adequately and is somewhat confusing. Rest of kit installed fine though not easily, and appears to work properly. I did have to purchase two 90 degree hose connectors for the air bag end so the hoses would not hang straight down and extend below the car frame and potentially get snagged on something.
Very simple design for preventing rear sag when weight is loaded on the tongue. Installation was ok, with the most difficult part being actually getting bags inside the coils. Look to online for help as the instructions are generic and not great. Would recommend getting the t-splitter 1/4 size to get a balanced ride. Only complaintS are the output valve points downward which then Puts your airline closer to the ground than comfortable When driving.
These are great. Good fit inside the spring. Had to drill the air hole out a little on my strut mount. They are working awesome.
Fit to 2000 Sienna without tubing to eliminate exposure to damage. Carefully filed Schrader shorter so air hose could depress inner core enough for filling with air. Important to refrain from filling bladders until vehicle is loaded as instructions direct. Schrader valves would hang up on the axle mounting holes since they were not centered - required reaming out holes 1/4" off center. Suggest completely deflating when unloaded to prevent squeaking.

I would check your air lines. Make sure that your connection points are flat and level with no abrasions. Get a spray bottle with soapy water and hose the sucker down and see where the bubbles are coming from.
