Heavy loads can make the rear end sag, throwing off steering, braking, and headlight aim. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs add up to 3,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity to keep your vehicle steady and level when hauling or towing. By adding air pressure as needed, you maintain even load distribution and reduce strain on your rear suspension so the truck tracks straight and the ride feels solid.
Every load is different, and these air springs let you adjust to match it. With manual inflation valves for side-to-side leveling, you can fine-tune pressure anywhere between 5 psi and 100 psi. Add air for towing or carrying heavy gear to stay level and stable, or lower it when unloaded for a softer ride. The adjustability helps smooth out bumps, control sway, and prevent bottoming out on rough roads.

Harsh road shock can wear on both your suspension and your comfort. Firestone’s single-convoluted air springs use four layers of reinforced rubber with corrosion-resistant metal end plates to absorb impacts and soften contact between axle and frame. The tough rolled crimp seal keeps the bags securely anchored while the rubber cushioning takes the sting out of uneven pavement, helping prevent bottoming out under load.

Each kit includes custom-fit brackets, air springs, hardware, airline tubing, and separate valves for manual inflation. The setup installs between your frame and rear suspension to maximize safe load-carrying capacity while maintaining proper balance and alignment. Switches, gauges, compressors, and air tanks are available separately if you want in-cab control, but everything needed for manual operation comes in the box.

Product arrived very quickly, the next day. That was awesome. I installed it that same day late afternoon and night. The product works great. Makes the Van (2009 passenger van 1500 ) feel way more stable and lifts the vans back side up enough to keep it dragging down the road. I haul a trailer full of sound equipment and about 6 band members down the highway every weekend. It was very important to level off the van for weight distribution. I feel like I'm a good with instruction and good with tools. I built race cars in the past. The instructions were not very informative. needed more layout on what to do. A real good [internet] video would have been great. If it wasn't so late at night I would have made one with my findings. I started at 4:30 pm with dinner break and finished at 12 midnight. that's 6 hours to install. I could do the next one in 4 hours learning all the tricks. The passenger side was the hardest. The exhaust was in the way, so installing the 15/16 jam nut was not easy. I didn't have a 15/16 wrench to make it easier. I used a 15/16 socket with a swivel and short extension (3/8's drive) to tighten it. Took a minute with small throws. Great product. Thank you Tommy
Your air ride system worked great on our van towing a 12 foot enclosed trailer from Minnesota to Florida. Handled our big load 2000 miles with no problems. Would recommend your unit to anyone. Was GREAT!!!!!
I chose these bags to assist in hauling my travel trailer, just wanted the extra help. Easy enough to install, follow directions of course. I would completely assemble the airbag with brackets on the bench first as you have plenty of room to install under vehicle and would cut install time in half. I just installed yesterday and am heading out today for camping so we shall see, I am confident they will help. Bags were shipped way faster than expected which was a surprise but top notch service is common for a great company, look forward to more buisiness in the future.
I have 2008 chevy 1500 express Explorer Built Conversion Van. I tried another brand and it didn’t fit. This Brand is a perfect fit!!! The ride is excellent! I could not be more happier. It was a pain drilling the hole in the shock mount, I did have to come up with some spacers for the existing brake cable and hose mounts to get them out of the way but overall pretty straight forward install. The ride is a lot better with the trailer being level now. I like the trailer and van level together no more squat. Real nice. I ran the filler valves out the back. It fills fast with a small compressor. I don’t think a on board compressor is needed but it would be a little better with it. Just not worth the effort to install one to me. These are nice bags. It took me about 8 hours total laying on my back and being particular about everything and I am 60 so not as fast as I used to be lol.
2017 Ford Raptor, Great Kit. There was light grinding to get the bracket to slide onto the frame. Besides that, install was a breeze. My little cousin did most of the work!
