When you’re towing a trailer or hauling a full bed, the rear suspension takes the hit first. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support between the frame and suspension to keep your vehicle riding level. This evens out weight distribution, keeps steering responsive, and ensures braking stays predictable. With the truck sitting level, your headlights stay properly aimed, and your tires wear evenly instead of scrubbing under strain.
Every haul is different, and so is the air pressure you’ll want in your springs. Firestone Ride-Rites let you fine-tune pressure from 5 psi up to 100 psi using manual inflation valves. Add air for a heavy load to firm up stability and reduce sway, or drop pressure when running empty for a softer, more comfortable ride. You can even adjust side to side to level off-center loads so the truck stays balanced and handles predictably.
Hauling or towing shouldn’t mean feeling every bump in the road. Firestone’s double-convoluted air springs use four layers of reinforced rubber and a braided wire girdle that boosts burst strength while cushioning road shock. They soften contact between the axle and frame to prevent bottoming out, help absorb jolts from uneven pavement, and make the ride smoother no matter what’s in the back.

These air bags are anchored with corrosion-resistant metal end plates and a rolled crimp seal that locks everything securely in place. The durable rubber construction handles high pressure without leaking, while heavy-duty brackets and hardware keep the system solid over years of towing and work use.
The Ride-Rite kit comes with brackets, air springs, hardware, airlines, and separate valves for manual inflation—everything you need to get it mounted up. The custom brackets tie into existing frame points on most setups, and only some applications require drilling. Route the air lines to the rear bumper for easy valve access so you can fill up at a home compressor or service station whenever it’s time to hit the road with a load behind you.

Really helped the ride for my 2005 Ram. I put almost 200k miles since I bought it brand new and now it rides much better
First of all, I ordered the wrong air bag kit, and Korren C. helped me tremendously by correcting the problem by selecting the right air bag kit which is the F2286. I personally appreciate all her help and advice.
Secondly, gives me great pleasure saying the F2286 was the correct kit for my 2008 Doge Ram 1500 pickup. Plus following the video on etrailer helped install the air bags easily. Since the installation I have pulled a 7500lb trailer and the air bags made a big difference in towing trailer. The air bags help my truck to stabilize while towing my trailer. Especially driving in the mountains and over rough roads.
I only know what I have personally experience using these air bags while pulling my trailer, I would suggest to any one pulling a heavy trailer to include air bags to stabilize the truck and trailer. Thanks to etrailer and Korren C. for her help.

Having a problem with it not holding pr essure
The ride is amazing in these air bags! I will install on all of my trucks. etrailer is awesome to deal with. The only challenge I had during install was the passenger side.
Kit arrived within three days of order. Installed on 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Everything installed just as the instructions indicated. My only problem was trying to remove the original frame bolts that held the rubber frame bumper. The bolts were rusted so bad, two of them snapped off while trying to remove. I was able to ease the remaining two off. Inserted two new bolts, then tack welded the new mount to the frame on the side of the busted bolts. Great product so far, will test with a full load this weekend. I pull an enclosed trailer and need the additional support.
First, the customer service I experienced with etrailer.com was top notch. Phyllis, you took care of me and quickly resolved my mistake in ordering the incorrect part. Received the new part as quick as the original order. Thank you for your service! Second, install on the air suspension was pretty simple, even for a novice. Took a little longer than expected but that was only due to user error. I can already tell the difference in ride and look forward to getting the full use out of my new air bags. For now, everything installed easy and is working great.
Put these bags on my truck a year ago. I pull an 8k lb camper with a 1500 Ram. These made a huge difference. Puts more weight on the front axle which helps tremendously with steering and the handling of the truck. Feels less like I’m pulling a load. Don’t know why I waited so long to buy them. Now that I know what they do for me, I’ll put them on my next truck immediately. etrailer.com has been an awesome company to work with. I recommend etrailer.com to everyone I can.
I just received the kit at noon. I installed it in about 3hrs. with 5psi on bags it raised the truck rear end 1in.it took longer to route the air lines than it did to install kit. i have not put camper on truck yet but I am sure this kit will solve the rear sag I had .overall the kit what I was looking for.

air bag are excellent they keep the ride of truck level with camper on . I have since installed a set on my nephews truck and he loves them I would recommend these air bags
I recieved my air bags a couple of days ago. They were super fast with delivery and everything was accounted for. Installed it myself on my 2005 ram 1500 4x4. Took around four hours. Simple instructions to understand. As soon as I completed the installation I hooked up a heavy gooseneck trailer and with jus ten lbs. of air it leveled the trailer and never dropped and inch more. Even when loading a horse into the front of it. I I havent pulled the gooseneck yet put pulled a bumper trailer and it handled well... even with out a load I can tell the difference with them on... very well made product and would recommend to anyone. Very satisfied customer right here.

I really like the product. I have hauled a gooseneck several times in the past year with five horses in it and it performed well beyond my expectations. Very pleased.
Great kit. Upper brackets need some modification to fit a ram 2500.

I am wondering if there is a leak somewhere in the fittings or lines. Have you had the chance to do the soapy water test to check? You can use a spray bottle with soapy water to spray on the lines and fittings to see if bubbles form.
