When you’re hauling serious gear, you need a rack that won’t flinch under pressure. This Yakima Heavy-Duty system is built around aluminum crossbars that are both strong and rustproof. With a 500-lb weight capacity (always follow your vehicle’s roof load rating), it’s ready for lumber, tents, kayaks, or any other adventure cargo. The bars measure 60" long x 3" wide x 1-1/2" tall, giving you solid support without unnecessary weight.
Getting the right fit for your setup is easy with the included 72" tracks and SkyLine towers. The tracks mount to flat surfaces using T-bolts (drilling required) and create flexible mounting points that let you fine-tune where your bars sit. Tower pitch can be adjusted 6 degrees forward or backward so your crossbars stay level even on angled surfaces. Once in place, the Landing Pads and towers lock in tight for a secure base that feels solid every time you load up.
When your gear is strapped up top, you don’t want to fight to find anchor spots. These Heavy-Duty bars include integrated tie-down points built right into the endcaps, so securing ropes or straps takes seconds. It’s a clean design that keeps your load stable and avoids improvising with hooks or bungees in awkward places.
The rubber strips running in the channels help cushion your cargo while also cutting down on slip and vibration. They keep dirt out of the tracks too, which helps everything stay smooth when sliding mounts into place. Less rattling means less noise on long road trips—just steady gear and quiet miles.
Add Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores (sold separately) to secure the towers and keep your setup protected when parked. Snap-on covers for the Landing Pads keep things tidy when the bars are off, giving you a clean look even when you’re not hauling gear.
