Video Transcript for Set up: WeatherTech Side Window Rain Guards with Dark Tinting on a 2022 Ram 1500 Classic

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the WeatherTech Side Window Rain Guards here on our 2022 RAM 1500 Classic. These are gonna allow us to keep our windows cracked open whether we want some air flow in our vehicle, maybe have the windows kind of cracked on a hot summer day to let some of that heat escape while still protecting against any water intrusion from some potential rain. I know here in Missouri, we get a lot of really hot summers and everyone at work really likes to keep their windows open so when they get in their car at the end of the day, it isn't so hot and muggy in there. And this is a great way to make sure that you can do that. While not worrying about any water getting in if it does start to rain.

My opinion, the tinted black look fits in really well with our truck here. It gives it that sort of OEM look and they fit in really well. They aren't too obtrusive. They're pretty low profile and you don't really notice 'em too much on the truck. They don't look out of place and they're gonna be really functional too.

It is made of a 3 millimeter thick acrylic so I do think it's gonna hold up pretty well over time. And the installation process is really simple and straightforward. Check out how we did it. Starting with the front window, we wanna make sure we identify the correct side. Turning it kind of towards the camera here.

You can see that this bows outward here, that's towards the outside of the vehicle. And then we can just kind of match it up to the general window shape. So we see, this is for our front driver's side. And what we're gonna do is actually slide this front portion in first, just kind of slotting it into this gap here. And we want our windows about halfway down for this.

So once that's slotted in, we can go to the other end. Kinda bow the whole thing outward and slide the back end in. And from there, we can just start to tuck everything in. Working our way from the front to the back. Just a little bit of flexing, it's totally okay. You can see everything starts to sit in really nicely. Make sure the weather stripping on your vehicle is all around this cover correctly. And then we can move onto the back set. For the rear, we have the more squared section towards the front of the vehicle and the more tapered end towards the rear. And what I'm gonna do is I'm just going to feed in this front end first. And when you do this, remove the adhesive strip here before you get this put up into place. We aren't gonna leave these on the truck so we're not going to remove that right now. Once you've got that front one seated in, you can just kind of push the back one into place. You can see even without that adhesive, it is staying up in there on its own. And now we can just go ahead, test the fitment with our windows, roll them up and down a few times. We should be good to go. We just wanna make sure that when you're rolling your window up and down, nothing's hitting. Right now, it looks like we're getting pretty good fitment and the window is working as it should in the front here. Perfect. And now we can go to the rear. And in the back it looks like everything is working the same way. So once we've verified everything's working well, we can repeat that process on the other side of the vehicle. And that'll complete our look and installation of the WeatherTech Side Window Rain Guards here on our 2022 RAM 1500 Classic. Thanks for watching..

Don't look to close. I think that products coming from a company that prides itself on custom fit, the fit would be better. The reveal along the top is very uneven. Instructions say to roll window up very slowly, right, power windows. First time up, crack, :( . Luckily the cracked piece is small and hidden.

It was actually for my dads truck and here’s what he had to say:
The items were received in a properly packaged box and in good condition. The instructions were straightforward, clear and concise. Installation went smoothly and was completed in a relatively short amount of time. The fitment was precise. I went with the adhesive style, as they appear to be more secure. This style offers less wind noise, in my opinion. Additionally, they offer proper water protection (deflection) along with sleek looks. I definitely recommend this product and etrailer was great from start to finish.

Easy installation

Great product and fast shipping

paid the little extra to go with these well made and excellent fitting window vents as other "stick ons" just dont last. I bought from etrailer as they track shipping and assure delivery.

very pleased!

highly recommend WeathTech & etrailer

The rear guards are wrong. Too small. The website said "it will fit". Not even close.

by:

Look good and easy to install. Fast del ivery

WeatherTech products looks fantastic but can be a pain in the rear to install. Keeping the product in the sun makes it a bit more flexible. But I do recommend the product to keep those windows cracked and water out.

I’ve bought these for several of my vehicles. I considered them essential equipment for adventure travel. The model made for my 2016 Subaru Forester is not up to the same standard as the other units I purchased for other models. The shaping / contour actually sucks rain and moisture into the vehicle, rendering this model virtually useless. Generally I consider this a good product, but not this particular version.

When I ordered these side window air deflectors it was noted not confirmed to fit but I’m confirming it now and they work great and easy to install

by:

Very good fit. Profile of the deflector is barely noticeable. Did not interfere with the window operation. When traveling, no whistling noises.

by:

First of all etrailer is a very good place to buy stuff for your car truck or trailer, I have done it all and they’re great. The weather tech side window rain guards which I bought for my new car fit perfect and look great. I bought my items from a lady named Joy she was very easy to talk to, very pleasant and very upscale. Joy knew what she was talking about And answered all questions very well

by:

My weathertech sun shield fits great and looks good. I was glad when they arrived in good condition. Was worried they would have damage to it.

by:

The front deflectors fitted great; however, the rear deflectors were 3.5 inches too short. Caroline did a great job trying to find out why they were short. She called Weather Tech and did not find out why. I ordered the ones that I was told to.

We could not find anyone to tell us why they were short.

I would like to compliment Caroline on her assistance and how hard she worked for me on this matter.

by:

The front ones work well, however the wrong size was sent for the rear windows. We just sent them back and have not reordered because they only come in sets for both front and rear windows and it seems wasteful to order another full set.

The WeatherTech Side Window Air Deflectors with Dark Tinting - Front and Rear Look great on my vehicle, being the type that mount inside the window channels makes for a much better look. The lines of the vehicle remain the same but better ventilation is possible without showing that the windows are down just a bit. Very happy with this purchase.

by:

Profile of the deflector is close fitting to the window frame so not very noticeable. Does not interfere with the window operation. No whistling noise when driving with the windows slightly open under the deflector.

by:

Great service and good video on how to install it on my truck. Appreciate the emails sent to advise me about when I should get it. Easy installation thanks to both Weather Tech instructions and trailer video. What’s to say other than great product and good quality and trailer is tops in service. Also fair pricing.
Thanks
