Rut tracking occurs when your truck or RV hits an uneven patch of pavement and is, consequently, pulled into that rut and off of the smooth pavement. With larger trucks and motor homes, this problem can be difficult to correct because you have to work even harder to steer back onto the road. With Roadmaster's TruTrac system, rut tracking is a thing of the past. The unique Trac rod attaches to the front axle of your vehicle, essentially holding it in place to prevent jarring and any unnecessary shifting. In addition to minimizing rut tracking, the TruTrac system helps to end driver fatigue by eliminating wander, which is the "loose steering" feeling that causes you to oversteer.

Today we're going to take a look at the Roadmaster TruTrac front axle track rod for large trucks and RVs. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2003, the 2009 Chevrolet Kodiak 4500 and 5500 vehicles and the 2003 and 2009 GMC TopKick with the diesel engine. This part will make your vehicle easier to steer and control with the TruTrac system. It will brace your vehicle's axle to prevent jarring and help keep it in line, minimizes wander rut tracking to improve overall performance and it controls excessive axle side play without affecting the up and down movement of your suspension. This will also help reduce driver fatigue because it will minimize the effort that's required to keep your vehicle in line. As you can see, the track rod itself is built with nice polyurethane bushings instead of your standard rubber variety for a lot longer lasting system. Polyurethane is durable, more resistant to damage that can be caused by oil, gas and ozone and, of course, less roaming and less give in the system, better support. It is constructed of a thick cadmium plated 4140 chrome-moly steel for superior strength.
Everything on here installs using existing holes in your vehicle's frame. There's no drilling or welding required. It does include everything shown here on the table, includes the track rod itself, all the mounting brackets and the hardware that's needed to install it and a nice set of detailed instructions that describe how to put everything into your vehicle. This part is made in the USA. One last thing, the track rod itself, the diameter of that rod is one and a half inches.
