This is a rave-worthy upgrade for your RV. It extends far enough for you to grab hold before taking the first step up, and it folds flat without obstructing your door or slide out. Feels sturdier and looks better than what you're used to.

This folding handrail comes in 2 sizes, the 42" handrail for 2-3 step entrances and the 50" handrail for 3-4 step entrances. If you have 2 or 4 steps, the choice is clear. If you have 3 steps, it may come down to how much clearance you have below the door.
The 50" handrail, when folded, extends almost 11" past the lower mounting bracket. That basically means your RV should have at least 11" of skirting, so when the handrail is in the folded position, it doesn't extend further than the skirting.
The area around your RV door is possibly going to have some obstructions around it, and you really should take a look and see if there's anything there that will cause problems.
The bottom bracket is 6" wide and must be attached to the RV's hardwood floorboard, which is roughly in line with the bottom of the door frame. If you have at least 6" between the door frame and any obstructions or a slide out, you should be good to go. Trim pieces can be cut and removed where there might be an issue, but be ready to properly seal them to keep moisture out.
When you take this out of the box, you'll see that there is a roll pin installed in the rail that will keep it set at a 38-degree angle. If you need it at a steeper, 45 degrees, the pin can be knocked out.

Hi everyone. Steven here with Etrailer. Today we're looking at our Stromberg Carlson Lend a Hand Banister RV Handrail. Now this is gonna be about 42 inches long a roll, and it's gonna be great for two to three steps max. Now this telescoping handrail will replace your stock handle and this will give you something easier to reach. So you've got a little triangular bracket here at the bottom that's gonna mount at the base.
And then you've got this rectangular one at the top. So basically it's attached to your RV side pretty much like this. And then when you need to use it, this can telescope out. And again, this would be attached obviously, so bear with me. This would be attached to the wall.
This can telescope out and give you a nice handrail that's supported to be able to grab onto. So something like this. And again, this can telescope all the way out. And then when it's time to close it up, it goes back into place, and then it snaps in place, and it's held in place with the plastic down here for a very nice, very functional handrail. So it's not gonna block your door when it's not in use.
It folds up flat just like this and it's gonna stay in place with ease. And you do get separate lower and upper brackets. Those are gonna help avoid obstructions next to your door. And of course, they throw in your bag of hardware for mounting it. So make sure you're reading the instructions to be sure you're installing it correctly and in the correct place.
It works both on flat or rounded RV walls, and it's gonna be a great addition, like I said, for you. Now this extends approximately 34 and a quarter inches out from the RV wall, so about 34 and a quarter inches out. And the extended angle is 38 degrees. Now that being said, I read the instructions, and it does say you can potentially modify part of this to get it down to a 45 degree angle if you so need, but they don't recommend it unless it's in extreme cases where you absolutely have to.
