the ladder showed up quick and on time, product was exactly what i ordered however ups once again looks like they delivered it with a garbage truck claw machine, ladder was sticking out the bottom of the box so it had some scratches, box looked like it went through a trash compactor prior to delivery, crushed from all sides and holes all over

It fit but had to do some modifications. I was hoping it was like a plug and play system but it was not. Like I said it worked but not like the original.

The ladder is a disappointment. This black ladder was supplied with all bright hardware, the hinges to join the sections are a VERY sloppy fit as is the top section that goes the roof. The stand offs and lower J section put the sharp ends of the tubing in direct contact with trailer skin. I fabricated aluminum plates to correct this deficiency and joined the sections with copper tubing inserted inside the ladder tubing 6 inches on each side of the joints. See these in the pictures provided. I am pleased with final result but the manufacturer should have done the extra work and engineering not me. I would only rate this product and overall experience as 2 stars.

Product was received undamaged and all pieces and hardware accounted for. Instructions for assembly could have been more detailed but we're adequate for a person of moderate mechanical aptitude. As with most after market accessories, a moderate amount of improvisation was required. Since I was unable to anchor the rooftop section as well as horizontal supports to structural sections in all cases, I had to incorporate hollow wall anchors for horizontal supports as well as aluminum structural angles to mount roof anchors. Allow about 12 hours start to finish. As is always wise advice: measure twice and cut once. Also, make use of a good level often during installation process. Finished product was sturdy and plumb.

Well built and designed takes a bit of time and effort to fit The ladder to your specific RV but with some hack sawing and drilling it even fit my leisure travel van which has more curves then a play boy fold out Didn't get a five because the hardware was still galvanized and having paid double for black paint the hardware and flex hinges should've been black tool

Well made product, easy to modify for universal applications. I was able to cut to length and install the ladder in about 1 hour of work. My suggestions for improvement would be to have black mid ladder couplers, instead of just silver galvanized, to match the black ladders, and to provide mounting inserts for fiberglass wall trailers with the kit.

Quality product, as advertised, and EXTREMELY FAST SHIPPING! The "Black" color is true and strong. Precise instructions for installation and modification included. It fits my new Forest River 326RL, has swivel if bend is needed instead of straight. It can be cut down for shorter installation. A very safe product if installed according to instructions.

The standoffs are way to short for a 2014 Allegro Breeze 32 BR diesel pusher rv I would have to put more money in the installation, and the little rectangular brackets aren't optimal. The back of my rv is has way to many big curves for the parts that are sent with the product! Even the videos that I was able to watch were all on straight backs?

I am sorry to hear that this did not work for your 2014 Allegro Breeze 32 BR diesel pusher Jeffrey. This isn't a fitguided item which is why we list the measurements so people can see if it will work for their application. Also, all of the hardware in the product pictures should have been included, was there something that was missing from the hardware picture? Do you need a return label?

@KateF I have tried to use this ladder and I have cannibalized some parts but unfortunately unable to make it work, I will again try when time is available to continue to make this work because some parts were destroyed. I would not be able to return with all the parts intact.

@Jeff I was able to find this information on their site: The ladder comes with 5-inch rectangular-base standoffs, but Stromberg Carlson also offers 12-inch round-base replacement standoffs (# 8531-B) that are designed to be cut to the length needed for the application. They're intended for situations where the RV has a curved rear cap or the standard 5-inch standoffs won't reach the mounting surface properly. Do you think by adding the Replacement Standoff for Stromberg Carlson Exterior RV Ladders - Qty 1 # 8531-B would help to make it work?

The ladder is well made and it was shipped quickly. Installation was straight forward. My only reservation is the manufacturer provided hardware is not black. When you spend twice the price to purchase the black anodised ladder the hardware looks terrible. I wound up painting all the screws and hinges black to get a factory look. Spend the time to think about your particular installation and dry fit everything before you do the final install. It looks great and seems very sturdy.

This is a good, universal ladder replacement option. I would have much preferred a true replacement, rather than a universal substitute for it, but this did the job. You don't have to be a mechanic to install it, but you do have to cut some pipe and do a little work to customize it for your RV. My disappointments were that the brackets/mounts were rectangular, while my old ladder's were round. I would have had to plug the old holes in the side of my RV and drill new ones for these mounts. I ended up using some parts/brackets from my old (broken) ladder and some from this one to utilize my existing holes in the RV siding. Also, I paid considerably extra for the black ladder over the aluminum finish, and was disappointed that the connecting piece used to connect the top and bottom halves of the ladder was silver/metal color (I painted it black for my use).

Bottom line. This will likely meet any ladder need you have, but it won't "replace" your original factory ladder.

This product does not work for trailers with rear bathrooms because of shower skylights or vents. Shipping was terrible with a box that looked as if a bear had at it.

This was a replacement ladder for the factory mounted unit that received damage. Overall the parts and instruction sheet I would rate as very good. The quality of manufacture is also very good. The only thought I have for improvement would be a slightly larger foot for the stand offs. etrailer was easy to order from and delivery was prompt.

Recommended Replacement Ladder for 2018 Thor Challenger 37 FH with Indent on Rear
The Stromberg Carlson # LA-401BA has a hinge that can be installed where the two ladder pieces join, which can help with any odd shapes on the rear of your coach. These are typically used on travel trailers but they can also be used on Class A or Class C RVs. I've linked a photo for you to have a look at that shows how flexible the ladder is. For your 2004 Tiffin Allegro Bus, I recommend using the Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder part # LA-401 for silver or part # LA-401BA for black. This ladder measures to be 99-12" tall x 12" wide but can be trimmed to fit the length you need. It has a hinge for contoured exteriors and a 250 lbs weight capacity. The part # LA-401BA that you referenced is 99-1/2 inches tall and fits basically all standard RV applications while also being able to be trimmed down as needed.
