Rhino Rack was exactly what I needed. Etrailers got it to me quick. No complaints
Just what I needed to replace a defective set I bough from a less reliable company. I do think that the pin in the center of the allen hole of the tensioner bolt is a bad design that requires using the special Rhino Rack allen torque tool. Why not just make it a regular allen wrench bolt since it is already securely locked by the keyed cover? If you loose the specialty tool you cannot remove the racks without punching out the center pin in the tensioner bolt.
First of all, the Rhino Rack is a great product. It is durable and I have had no problems with it, except when I accidentally spilled some greasy spray onto the roof of the car, and one of the racks fell off on the highway... my bad. So I contacted e-trailer at the advice of (Rhino Rack themselves) and they were extremely helpful and prompt in getting a replacement to me at reasonable cost. While I like Rhino Rack products very much, I like e-trailer even better! They are a great company and very helpful, friendly, prompt, and affordable.
Etrailer was great to deal with. They had everything I needed in stock and delivery was quick. They were also very helpful after the sale with questions I had regarding installation.
We had the challenge of how to carry 2 kayaks this summer in addition to hauling a 30 foot gooseneck horse trailer. We have F450 crew cab with custom truck bed. We hoped to use the "head ache" bar on the truck bed to support the rear sets of Swagman Rincon supports and purchased a single Rhino Vortex bar for the forward sets on top of the cab. We have 10.5 and 12 foot kayaks and this looks to be an excellent solution. The kayaks are clear of the gooseneck trailer even in a "jackknife" position. Please note the truck bed is extra long therefore there is plenty of room forward the nose of the trailer. We have not hauled yet but will convey any issues if there are any. eTrailer tech support was excellent. Product shipped as projected. Installation took approximatly 3 hours.
