Highlights

  • Finishes The Bunk Window Cutout: Covers the exposed edge left after cutting the hole in your van wall.
  • Window-Specific Fit: Matches the shape of the half-slider bunk window opening in your van.
  • Resists Fading And Cracking: Black aluminum trim holds its finish over time.
  • Protects The Cut Edge: Helps shield the exposed window cutout from chips and scratches.
  • Multiple Installation Options: Installs using self-tapping screws, adhesive, or the same through-wall bolts that secure your window.

Features to know about

Completes And Protects The Window Cutout

When you install a half-slider bunk window, the raw cut edge around the opening is still visible. That edge can chip over time. Even if it's painted, it's still thinner and more exposed than the surrounding panel. The cut edge can also feel sharp or uneven. Covering it reduces the chance of your hand or shirt catching on that exposed metal as you move around.

Installation Options

The trim mounts to the inside of your van wall around the window cutout, but you can secure it a few different ways. You can fasten it with self-tapping screws to pull it tight against the wall. You can glue it in place if you dont want visible screw heads around the window. If your window uses bolts that pass through the wall, the trim can sit under that same hardware so its clamped in place when the window is tightened, leaving a smooth, finished edge instead of rough, exposed metal.

Video Transcript for Review of Van Windows Direct Van Windows Interior Window Trim - VW87FR

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Let's take a look at our interior window trim for Van Windows Direct. This one's a half slider bunk window trim. So folks, when you're installing a half slider bunk window, the raw cut edge around the opening is still going to be visible. So that edge can potentially chip over time.

It could potentially crack and scratch the glass, even if you paint it. So you got to remember it's still thinner and more exposed than the surrounding panel itself. So that cut edge could also feel sharper, uneven. And when you cover it with something like this, you're going to greatly reduce the chance of your hand or shirt or anything catching on that exposed metal as you're moving around. So this does fit and work with the Overlander half slider bunk window.

And I'll put that item number up on the screen for you as well. And basically this trim is going to mount inside of your van wall around the window cutout, but you can secure it a couple different ways. So as you can see, I do have some self tappers that come with it and I can mount it that way tied against the wall. You can potentially glue this in place, believe it or not, if you don't want visible screw heads around the window. There's no glue included.

You would need to look up the manufacturer specifications for the type of adhesive and glue to use. Now, if your window uses bolts that pass through the wall, the trim could sit under that same hardware, that way it's clamped in place. And this will give you a little bit better profile view. Everything's rounded obviously. You got pre-drilled holes, so very nice construction and everything here as well.

And like I said, at the trim, if you use the bolt that go through the wall, this trim could sit under the same hardware. And that way it'd be clamped in place when the window's tightened, leaving a smooth finish edge. So I gave you that item number, the VW63FR sold separately. That's the half slider window. This trim, outside to outside, I get about 32 and three-quarter inches. I'm sorry, 32 and a half inches. And then a height if it was standing up, I get 11 and a half. And then the depth from the inside shoulder here, about two and a quarter. And then if I did a length from just the inside part, 30 and seven-eights by nine and seven-eights. So again, folks, this is our look at the interior window trim for Van Windows Direct half slider bunk windows. I'm Steve with etrailer, thanks for watching.

  • How Deep is the Interior Window Trim for Van Windows Direct Half-Slider Bunk Window VW63FR?
Hello Chris, Thanks for writing in. The interior trim ring included with # VW87FR is 65 mm deep, which converts to approximately 2-9/16 inches. This depth is measured from the interior side of the window frame into the vehicle and is intended to accommodate wall thicknesses up to about 2-9/16 inches. If your van wall is thinner than that, the trim ring can typically be trimmed to achieve a clean, finished appearance around the window opening. I attached an image for reference. If you're...
