I'm Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about Thule's replacement lock core. Replacing a lock core is pretty easy to do, and if I had to choose between the key or the lock core, most cases, the lock core's gonna be a little bit easier because the thing with this is a lot of times, these lock cores don't have a number on it depending on when you got yours. So, the newer ones typically don't. Some of the older ones will have it. But if you don't have that number on here or you don't have access to that number, it's gonna be hard to get that matched up to the right key.
So, there's a couple things you can do. If you still have your key, you can just simply look here. Right underneath the handle is gonna give you that number, and then you can find the lock core that matches it. But if you don't have that key and you just need a whole new set, you can actually find a whole new set here on our website. Now, when it comes to installing this, this doesn't take a whole lot.
You do need to make sure you do have a master key. Also, you can find that on our website. The way this works, you'll push that key in here and it will retract the sides and secure it in there. With that in there, now we can lock it down. But there's not a whole lot else to it.
I think these are just gonna be great if you need to replace a lock core or two on your roof rack or any of your other accessories you might have. Now, of course, if you guys have any other questions, let us know here at etrailer. And again, I'm Matt, and thanks for watching.

Thule products are typically solid and I have been a fan. Ordered two key cylinders to match with my equipments for one-key access. One of the cylinder is defected upon received as it would not retain in the hole. Upon closer inspection it is missing a inner tab for retention purpose. (Noticed the empty slot on the barrel in the picture.). I was surprised as this is a product quality escape from Thule. Called etrailer for customer support and was able to arrange for a replacement. I appreciate the good customer support.

A perfect fit. If they are not made by Thule, you can't tell the difference. I've used aftermarket lock cores and they always fall out. These are very snug and secure. I already had some locks that used the same key, so I ordered these to avoid having multiple keys.
Now I can securely lock my kayak to my securely attached Thule rack on my Sylvan Sport Go camper / trailer (see picture).

Worked as described and pretty idiot-proof - push in and turn key. Used the same key as my existing Thule products. Appeared to be authentic Thule (A***** had some fakes for a while). Arrived lightning fast (thanks etrailer).

Lost this lock (and related components) by carefully placing it on my bumper and driving off . . . never to be seen again. etrailer was the only source that had all of the parts I needed in one spot. Not even the manufacturer had one critical component. But what makes it even better, is that etrailer had it at a lower cost. Thule lock cylinders are easy to remove and replace with the Change Key and make it convenient if you have multiple Thule products like me with locks. I have a bike rack with built in lock, cross bars with locking footings, cargo box, etc. and they now all lock with one key because I bought replacement locks - highly recommend doing this if you have more than one lock code / key for your Thule products.
This is the only place online I could find these. Works great, still a solid design after 25 years.
