Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a replacement key for your Thule racks and Thule carriers, specifically key number 2818. Now, folks, if you're not sure on how to find which key number you need on your lock core, you can take a look and there should be an engraving on the front face of that lock core. Right next to the slot where the key in slides into, you should see a three to four-digit number usually. Match up that number on our website, put the T-H-K-E-Y in front of that number and you should get the right key that you need. Now, zoom in here on this guy, specifically this is engraved 2818, just like you see there on the key.
And again, you're getting quantity one, replacement key. This one matches key number N2818. It's direct replacement by Thule so you can ensure it's going to work for your Thule racks and carriers that have that matching lock core number. Folks, that's going to wrap it up. I have had my Sears Cargo carrier in the garage for years. Wanted to use it several times, but the keys were no where to be found, so it collected dust. I was going to consider a locksmith to make me some keys, but was concerned those costs would get excessive. When I did some last minute researching, I found that etrailer.com made keys and had them in stock; all I had to do was match the number on the lock. Just got the keys and we are back in business!! Followed the instructions on the website and found my replacement cargo box key. Arrived in a timely manner and worked perfectly.
I needed a replacement N2818 Thule key for my Sportrack cargo box after discovering that we had misplaced the original keys. With a trip looming, I needed these quickly and was striking out with more local retailers who claimed to have them but did not actually have inventory. etrailer shipped the order quickly and they worked as expected.
The only drawback was that the shipping costs seem a bit high for such a tiny item but if needed in a pinch, they came through.
Just the key number I needed for my Thule rooftop box. Key has held up well and doesn’t show wear from regular use. Fit snugly in the lock cylinder too.
It's as simple as advertised, and works as advertised. I didn't need much - replacement keys for a Sears X-Cargo car-top carrier (useless without the key.) The lock number is visible next to the keyhole. Enter the key number as instructed and replacements show up in an envelope, via US Mail. And they go out of their way to allow you to track shipping progress, in case you have an urgency. Nice job.
I had purchased a used Sears Sport 20 SV luggage car rack carrier, but the owners couldn't find the key. I searched on the website to find a solution to my key problem, and time after time I came across these great reviews on how helpful etrailer had been. I called etrailer and Mike was very genuine in helping me place the order and placing a two day rush delivery order (for an additional nominal fee). I just needed the number on the lock. The keys came within two days and worked! And my son used the carrier the very next day to attend his sister-in-law's wedding. (You see...I was replacing his carrier that I had bent!) Very easy process, staff very pleasant, helpful, and true to his word. I would recommend and if need be, order from etrailer in the future.
How does one write a review about a key? That's all we're talking about here -- a key. And not a real spendy key either. Just a $5 key.
Of course, without a key the $150 cartop carrier that I inherited from a previous owner who didn't have a key -- is useless. It can't be latched (that's how I got the cartop -- no key).
On a whim I did a web search just to see how to replace the lock/latch/closure mechanism.
Much to my surprise a web search landed me on etrailer where I found instructions on how to identify the key to the particular carrier. And how to get the number. And how to get a replacement. The number on my unit matched a corresponding number on the etrailer site, and in days I had a working key and a fully-functional cartop carrier.
I'm most impressed. I'll be shopping here again.
The only downside is the former owner of the cartop carrier who's is a little miffed because if he had known about his place he woulda kept the carrier. I suggested that he look for a replacement in here. Cuz this place is really good.

Exactly what I needed when I needed it most! Purchased a cargo box from a place that got it at an auction but it didn't come with the keys. Figured I'd do a little research on getting a key instead of drilling the lock out like they guy suggested. The research lead me here and now we can travel comfortably!

Key works perfectly with my sportrack vista xl cargo box.
Purchased a used Sears Sport 15-CAV but the owner did not have a key. I took the number off the lockset (2818), etrailer had the key for a fair price, shipped it fast, works great, end of story.

Still working great!
I purchased this key for a cargo top carrier after the key was lost. I purchased this key because it matched the numbers stamped on the top and Presto! The key worked perfectly. A lock smith was going to charge me close to 30.00 to get a new key made and coded. I took a chance and it payed off. Thanks very much for the key!!

Working out very nicely. No issues with the part.
Thule key was the correct fit for the lock cylinder. Made a second hand roof carrier functional and saved me quite a bit of money and hassle. Quick shipping. I would definitely return next time I need equipment.

I had a SEARS SPORT 20-SV (roof top cargo carrier )with lock numbers 2818 right above where you insert the key. I just added the letter (N) before the. So I ordered N2818 and it worked perfectly!! Two day shipping was right on time.
The key was a perfect fit for my Karrite Explorer cargo carrier.
