Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Fastway Universal Coupler Lock. The universal design is going to protect most trailers from being towed away, so it's designed to provide maximum security for your unattended trailer. It's going to protect it from theft. It's going to use a multi-step Uni-ball that fits into any size ball coupler. Now, this piece is a solid construction. It's not hollow, like similar designs and models, and the shackle has a really nice, unique bend.
This is a reversible design that allows it to snug up tight to most type of couplers or coupler latches, including all the ones that you see here on the table, such as A-frame, straight channel, round tongue, flat plate, and serge-type couplers. It's also going to accommodate a variety of latching mechanisms such as trigger, pin, thumb, and wraparound yoke latches. It works great on all the ones that you see here on the table. Really nice, universal design that's going to provide maximum security to your unattended trailer. The unit features a tube key lock cylinder that provides better security than standard key mechanisms. It's a lot harder to pick, and it's more difficult to duplicate keys.
It's also going to feature an anti-drill pin, that discourages attempts to drill out the lock. The unit's also going to feature bolt-blocked locking system, to prevent thieves from prying the lock open. Inside this hole right there, there's going to be a small bolt that engages the shackle. Right now, it would be in the unlocked position. You can see how that comes out just a little bit.
It doesn't take much to secure the unit, but that bolt that runs through there engages the grooves on the shackle, to keep it from being pried off of the trailer coupler. Now, when it comes to the construction, we're looking at a hardened steel construction when it comes to the shackle. It's going to provide maximum cut resistance. Chrome-plated finish does a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. Then, we're looking at a solid, die-cast, corrosion-resistant housing that's very strong and very durable. 2 keys are included per lock. They are numbered, so the keys are going to be unique to the universal lock that you choose.
This is going to fit 1 7/8 inch, 2 inch, and 2 5/16 inch ball couplers. You just need to make sure that the coupler width does not exceed 4 1/2 inches. The shackle diameter is 5/8 of an inch, and the unit's going to be covered with a limited lifetime warranty. I just want to show you how it installs and how easy it is to use. What you'll need to do is separate the 2 components. Just move it to the unlock position. It also has as nice dust cap, that protects that lock opening. It's going to do a great job at keeping out dirt and moisture. When you're ready to use it, all you need to do is make sure that the coupler is in the open position. The ball portion goes in there, and then all you've got to do is secure it, just as if you're hooking up to your hitch ball. Then, install the shackle. You need to determine which way's going to work best for your application. For this one, I just want to make sure that the point is pointing back towards the trailer. It is a universal design, that way, you can adjust it however you need to use the lock to fit your application the best. Then, we just move it to an unlocked position, allow that shackle to go down as far as possible, move the key to the locked position, and it removes from the core. Place on the dust cap, and that's on there. It's not going to come off. The only way to get it off is to use 1 of the 2 keys to unlock the unit. That's going to do it for today's look at the Fastway Universal Coupler Lock.

Protect just about any trailer from theft with this universal coupler lock, which uses a unique "ball" and shackle to fit a variety of coupler sizes and styles. Secures trailer when it is not in tow.It has proved to be an awesome trailer lock. Locking mechanism works smoothly. I purchased 1 for each of my 3 trailers and all keyed alike.
Attached easily with good adjustibility
The lock is diecast pot metal. It broke very easily. A strike with a large hammer will easily shatter the lock casting.
Bought several items in the past and they always deliver fast and accurate!
I have bought several of these locks for my dumpster rental business which I use several dump trailers for. I love that they can all be keyed the same. They are the only coupler lock I have found that reliably works. They do have to be lubricated every now and then to keep them working smoothly. That’s my only complaint.
Works well on my dump trailer and 20' deck trailer. Seattle weather has not impacted the lock. Gives me some peace of mind that it would slow down a thug. It's a good value for me.
It the best one we have found so far. With the keyed alike ones we have them on all our trailers.
Great products. Very convenient to have all my trailers locked and using only one key
These trailer coupler locks are great, easy to install and easy to take off. More than pleased the product and the shipping! Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
Bought a key matched set to replace my cheap zinc Master tongue lock. These things are solid and give me confidence that my trailers will remain safe
Perfect fit. The lock looks great and is a much needed accessory for RV's.
I already have this lock, wanted another for my camper I think it was great I could order another with the same key code, I have 2 locks and use same key. Awesome.
I still have my trailer so I'm guessing the lock works.
I bought several of these, keyed alike and have found them useful. The keyed alike feature is a winner. One key on every set of vehicle keys and I can access any of the rigs at will. The product itself can be a bit tricky to align, and on a steel hitch it will take some of the paint off eventually. Better than getting stolen I'd say. I've used it on 2 inch, 2&5/16 50mm and 1&7/8 couplers. The best fit is on the hitch I show a picture of, though in this case the lock is probably worth more than the trailer. . .
Seems sturdy. Unfortunately Fastway is one of those companies that thinks it is necessary to collect marketing information for you to complete warranty registration. Minus 1 star for that.
Works great. I park my trailer in public areas on occasion. It hasn't gotten ripped off yet!
I have not installed the lock on the trailer yet! My trailer is available! From what I can see the lock looks very strong and easy to use! I'm sure looking forward to using the lock! It should provide excellent security!
As always, e-tailer delivers a quality product at a reasonable price with quick shipping. I like the option to purchase Coupler locks that are keyed the same.
Excellent product, fits the coupler on my Airstream trailer perfectly, very heavy strong secure lock.
item has not arrived yet
Ball not as big as it should be and had to shim it. Tricky to get it tight enough to stay on my trailer hitch. Very heavy duty and seems to do the job.
I own 3 of them, nice thing was I was able to order all 3 with the same key. Simple to use and adds sense of security.
