The only way to get the Replacement Key for Thule Racks and Carriers - N2818 # THKEYN2818 at a hardware store like Lowes is if you have the key already in order to make a copy. The key cut is required in order to make an exact copy. As far as the keys being available at a hardware store for purchase if you need a replacement, you unfortunately can only order those specific cuts through us or from the manufacturer.
