Hi everyone, Steven here with Etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the replacement fabric for the Roadmaster Tow Defender. Now folks, this is a replacement fabric screen for your Roadmaster Tow Defender, and that is item number 4750, that Tow Defender. And this has been made of a heavy duty nylon. And I do wanna throw up an image on the screen just because I don't have the space here to fold this out all the way for you on my table. But that's what it looks like.
Again, it's gonna work with the Roadmaster Tow Defender item number 4750 sold separately. It is made of a heavy duty nylon construction. And of course, when you unfold it, it's gonna have that mesh screen just like the image I showed you, and you had a couple replacement straps here to hold it in place. I do wanna zoom in from the top down and show you this mesh just so you can kind of see. Again, it's that nylon mesh.
It is breathable, obviously, but it's heavy duty. So it's gonna do its job of protecting from debris, road things popping up while you're driving and whatnot, and protect that towed vehicle. So again, super, super simple design, but very, very sturdy. All the edges and seams have been very well stitched together and reinforced, so you don't have to worry about this thing tearing or ripping on you or anything like that. And of course, they've got all the slots you need to go around the Roadmaster Tow Defender.

I received the item but it is not as shown in the photo there is no roadmaster insignia on it or an etrailer insignia. Not sure if it is a third-party also only received two straps when it shows that there should be four

Perfect fit for the frame I already had. Great way to save $300 if the frame is fine, but the screen is ready for a replacement. Switched from roadmaster to blueox towbar and this was the perfect answer to that change.
The new screen looks good. Have not had a chance to install, but doesn not look like is going to be to bad. Great service from Etrailer. Thanks

Easy install, product fit the original framework perfectly. Delivery was fast and on time.
Holistically, you are sandblasting the paint on your toad by hauling it behind an RV but Tow Defender does lower odds of windshield chips and cracks from rock dings. Tow Defender is easy to install on tow bar, deploy and stow.
If you use your tow bar behind multiple vehicles (RV and truck), pay close attention to the towing vehicle's exhaust. I got a 1 out of 5 stars for attention to detail, hence the purchase of replacement fabric to fix that melted mistake before the SO noticed. Kudos to eTrailer for the fast shipping.
My old Defender was frayed. Real easy to install (after I called Roadmaster on how). On hydraulic struts at coach - use a screwdriver to expand clip and remove strut. Rotate bar away from coach and remove fabric. Do the same on the other side. Replace fabric and reinstall struts. At towed vehicle end separate bars in middle by compressing pin and pulling outward. Replace fabric on this end and mate bars.
Comes with new straps and makes everything like new. Nice you can replace parts and not whole unit
I ordered this replacement material for one that I have been using for 6 years. The old one is still in tack but I want the replacement on hand for when it gives out. This has done a great job thus far protecting my towed vehicles

I am still very pleased with the replacement cover. We towed a Jeep behind our motor home over 5,000 miles with no problems.
