Jeff Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this replacement, six-leaf RV entry door friction hinge assembly. Now, this hinge will replace or upgrade your one existing hinge on your RV's entry door. And this one is a controlled motion technology hinge. This will hold the door open in any position, and it does not allow the door to swing freely.
You can see it is a six-leaf design. It is a nice black color. And you can see that this leaf, this leaf, and this leaf is pretty permanent. These two require quite a bit of friction to move these two right here, and then this removes pretty freely. But to give you an overall idea of the length on this, the overall length from one end to the other is right at 9 1/2 inches.
But again, this one right here moves freely. These two here require quite a bit of tension. And then these three, one, two, three is pretty much in one place. But that should do it for the review on this replacement, six-leaf RV entry door friction hinge assembly..

In fairness, I wasn’t sure how to rate the hinge since it ended up not fitting my RV (2005 Winnebago) screen door. Also I had previously ordered what appeared to be the same identical hinge from [online], but that one did not have friction control like the etrailer version. Basically my screen door needs a different hinge solution (if there is one???). Bottom Line: had more detailed dimensions been available it would have saved me $XX for shipping??
The new hinges are still working smoothly and evenly. Not sure why the old hinges got bound up but these hinges seem to be a bit of a better design.
It is probably a good product but unfortunately it doesn’t fit our door. It is to short in length and the arms are way to small.
These hinges were the exact replacement part. I did pay extra shipping cost to get them by a certain date but to my dismay they did not show up when promised.
Not an exact replacement for my old hinge from a 2020 Lance 1995 but it does fit. You may want to measure the length of the old one if you require the exact part. The hinge is easy to install once you drill or grind off the rivets to remove the old one. The screw pattern is reversed from my old hinge and the hinge is slightly shorter.As usual etrailer has great service and shipping was pretty prompt though it was out of stock when I ordered it. It came a few days earlier than promised and that was a good thing. I will likely just put rivets in the exposed holes to clean it up.
I received regular hinges, not motion controlled hinges - there was no friction when turning the hinge to stop a door.
the lady at etrailer was very helpful in selecting this replacement door hinge. It was easy to install. The door closes easily. If your RV door won't close easily,check the hinge. It doesn't have to be bent much , to cause problems. It's not cheap, but you save money by doing the job yourself.
